Disadvantage of this system is that it is one way communication so there is no way my HC2 can know current state of my TV or any device in that matter.

Hi @smprofx @Sankotronic

I also use a global cache device (GC-100-12) and it is only one way control but I then use the LAN monitor to determine if a device is online or offline if it is connected tobthe network. This works well for some devices but there are anomalies with others ....

Hi @Sankotronic,

perhaps you'll replace your TV nowadays with "Smart" TV with the possibility to control it over IP directly. :-)

?? Defective? It is not defective, just older type that requires some strange doings to make it accept external control. I'm just lazy and don't have time to play with that because I still need IP2IR converter for my ISP set top box anyway.

    Hi @smprofx,

I decided to use Global Cache IP2IR adapter because it is good for any device with infrared controller. If one day I replace my Philips TV with some other all I have to do is learn codes from it's infrared controller. Disadvantage of this system is that it is one way communication so there is no way my HC2 can know current state of my TV or any device in that matter.

HC has plugins but I believe they are far outdated for new models of TV's.

    Hi @Sankotronic!

I think you have a VD to control IP2IR device. Could this VD be shared?

    Thank you!

    Hi @krizso ,

Here is code that is same for all buttons on VD remote. Only what you have to do is replace sendCommand string with one that you get in iTach IR2IP learning mode:

Please login or register to see this code.

IP address and TCP port you can setup on VD advanced tab. For iTach usually port is set to 4998. How to learn codes from remote and how to setup to which IR port signal will be sent (my IP2IR has 3 ports) you can find on iTach website:

Please login or register to see this link.

where you can also find download link for iLearn application with which you can learn iTach to any IR remote that you have at your home.

    Happy coding! :-)
