@Mo19 nobody has ever mentioned any drawbacks to me of the 2 wire setup over 3 wire apart from the fact that only the dimmer 2 module can work with 2 wire. So I'm not sure what you mean but I plan to use the dimmer 2 for dimmable led downlights and also a simple on/off low wattage outdoor light and from everything I've read and been told, there should be no issues.

on/off with a Dimmer 2 is fine but when combined with LED lights it can be a troublemaker. Lets see now: 10x18W led lights = 180W. the Dimmer 2 can handle 200VA of LEDs and in its manual is written:  "Without dimming function it may work with: • compact fluorescent CFL tube lamps with electronic ballast • fluorescent tube lamps with electronic ballast • LED bulbs (power factor > 0.7)supported light sources (power factor > 0.5) with minimal power of 5VA using FIBARO Bypass 2 (depending on the type of load)".

So, in my situation, 10 bulbs, 18w each, if the power factor is 0.5 that means that the Dimmer 2 will not survive because the 200VA at 0.5 power factor means 100w at max! If the power factor is greater it will be OK....... Well, if the LEDS are 6x6w=36w and the power factor is 0.5 we can use Bypass 2 (at least that is said in the manual, because we are not sure what "supported light sources" and "depending on the type of load" means........) we should be OK...

Any other thoughts guys? Am i right?

I have dimmer 2 in 2 wire setup that is controlling only one LED lamp of approx. 9W without bypass and is working just fine. I had to play little bit with the settings but after that no problems.

I have another dimmer 2 in 2 wire setup that is controlling 7 LEDs of total 70W in On/Off mode and also works splendid. No bypass installed.

I have another dimmer 2 in 2 wire setup that is controlling 2 non-dimmable LED tubes of total 40W in On/Off mode and also no problems. No bypass installed.

One more dimmer 2 in 2 wire setup controlling 2 LEDs of total 15W using dimming function works also ok without bypass installed.

LED tubes are Philips brand, and all other LED bulbs are dimmable Osram brand.
