HC2 Crashed?

HI All,

 

I'm very new to this, recently got rid of my HCL and moved to the HC2 due to limits on the HCL that 'annoyed' me :).  Running 4.100 on the HC2.

 

So I've had my HC2 running for about 5-6 days, all good, devices working well, remote/start stop scenes all good, kids loving it.....  I haven't logged into the HC2 for about 2 days - This morning none of my automation worked so I went to log into the HC2 and got a 503 error with the buttons refresh or restart services.  Restart services worked fine, but WHY?  In theory this is going to become a crucial part of our home and really can't have it unstable?  Is there any logs that I can see what happened - the event viewer just shows me some temp changes in the room at 1am then nothing until I restarted.

My HC2 is also running on 4.100 and is quite stable, but to gain this stability there are many things to be done and check. For staters do yo have enabled in Configuration Z-wave Network options Pooling dead devices and Mark nodes as dead? If yes do you have occasionally any device marked as dead? Is there any device that is far away from HC2 and maybe on the edge of z-wave network? Did you notice that some devices sometimes have transfer failed when wake up? This can be seen on web GUI when you wake it up manually?

 

I had 3 door/window sensors that were giving me headache becoming dead sometimes or having transfer failed. I did exclusion and inclusion and for the one far away from HC2 I added nearby one smart plug and after that no more trouble.

 

How many scenes you have that are looping? How many virtual devices with main loop with code? How many of them are connecting to other devices over the network? I know that I had problems with Philips HUE plugins since I have 27 HUE bulbs and whenever I install them I have more frequent 503 error. There is no really any diagnostic available to users so it is difficult to pinpoint cause of such problems so all we can do is try and error.

 

At last, what is load on CPU and after few days from restart does your free RAM memory stabilize or gradually getting filled with cache?

you are lucky anyway - my HC2 cannot last for more that 10 minutes without restarting, erased to default, all devices, even without connected devices is so unstable that its not possible to use it. I regret that i get rid of vera every time i see all lights flashing.

 

support said that HC2 is ok - and all issues are related to power lines. anyway - i sent complain to APC that theis product lines are faulty

Hi,

 

I have this issue too. Every 3-4 days I have to restart service to get it to work. I have not always been like that and I have not changed anything in the setup. I'm running 4.1000. So if you find a solution, then I would like to know it.
