Any always on solution for tablets?

Question

This is more advice than a problem - I am considering getting two tablets for the house to put in the hallway to almost make a "startrek" type console in the wall.

Most likely 10" tablets with horizontal layout, I would then put the tablet fibaro app on there (unless I go for a generic z-wave apps available)

Is there an option to leave the app on always if the tablet remains on?  Ideally I would probably want the tablets to dim to 1% for instance when not in use and then 100% once tapped but the app would still be connected regardless.

Anyone done a similar task?  if so what is the verdict?  what tablet did you use?

Thanks

This is now resolved.  I got the tablets on the wall (4 in total) dotted around the house and have decided to ditch the Fibaro app altogether and use another that was available on the playstore.

Tested it, worked very well and ended up purchasing the pro version.  It's got an auto-refresh on it so it essentially always stays connected.  Had it up over the weekend and had instant access anytime I wanted it.

The dashboards are also excellent - I would say as basic as the fibaro app is, there is one benefit for the tablet fibaro app and that is the graphical widgets are a lot nicer to the eye to this other app but for all the other benefits the other app gives, I will stick to that one.

Thanks again and please mark as resolved - unsure whether I can mention the other app hence the reason I have left it out

Did you use Imperi? I have that as well but think it doesn't look nice.

    Yup got it in one!

The fibaro app for the tablet is unusually pretty especially when you compare it to the mobile app but for me, the imperi has those few features that I need and that Fibaro does not offer.  The main one in my case is the fact that imperi stays connected.  The tablets are currently on the floor until tomorrow when I get the slightly longer cables I needed but not once have they fallen asleep in the week or so they have been turned on

Even the widget/icon that allows to navigate between dashboard pages is nifty - i have one page with the main cctv cameras on it - 1 button and it loads them up...quicker than even my phone loading up the cctv standalone app.

Maybe rather than the fibaro app improving functionality, imperi might improve the looks - live in hope but for now, this will do perfectly

Doesnt the FIbaro app have a "Keep Awake" mode in the settings that prevents the tablet from falling asleep?

I have no idea what that "feature" does but it's never worked with me.  At most, it keeps it connected to avoid the reconnecting when launching the app but nothing ever functions.  I have to exit the app and reenter before it works
