HELP. Sceses to arm alarm after no movement for 12 hours

I would like to auto arm my alarm when no movement has been seen for lets say 12 hours.

 

I'm thinking about saving the last movement time in a global variable, and compare this every minute with the true time to see if 12 hours have been passed.

If so, set alarm.

 

Any other suggestion on how this could be done?
