Some of my Fibaro modules (plugs, motion sensors) sometimes get unpaired / loose connection to HCL. I have to delete them, add them again, go manualy go  through all scenes that use them, to make everything working again.

Is there a way to restore pairing without module getting a new id?

Or, even better, prevent this from happening?

This module lost communication 2 days ago. There was a movement in that room, but module did not register it.

What to do with these devices?

Hello,

You mean, that your device gets dead, or you are unable to control it (wall plug) or receive info (motion sensor)? If you unplug wall plug and plug it back, is LED ring green or red?

With motion sensor if you remove and insert battery, does it blink with red or green color?

If red, i would suggest to contact your Fibaro dealer. If green, still contact your Fibaro dealer with HC serial number and fw version, that HC is on, and tell him, that unit has broken Z-Wave chip.

Well, this happens to several different Fibaro devices. Are they faulty, is it HCL bug, or design bug? I am unable to control them (wall plug) / HCL receives no info from them (motion sensor).

They hold the configuration for several months, work well, but some of them need re-adding, as they stop working. Battery is NOT dead in these devices. It is basically a software problem once every few months. After re-adding, they work again for few months. Other devices may fail communicating.

And it is not easy to tell these devices do not communicate, Fibaro does not alert they are faulty, until you look closely at "last seen" update for motion sensors, e.g.

    Hi @rado

If you complete a soft reconfiguration it will keep the same ID but this is not always successful

After that you cold try the full configuration, this will assign a new ID

If that is not successful then the only remaining option is to exclude the device (using Add new device Screen - delete) and then include again

Rado, please do what @AutoFrank suggest.

Also can you post there with which color that faulty wall plug flash when you unplug it and plug it again into a socket? If red, then Wall plugs has memory damaged. If Green then something is wrong in HCL.

And do you have "Poll dead devices" checked? It is located in Configuration -> Z-Wave network. I see you use Czech language. So in CZ language it is "Dotazuji nereagující zařízení" in "Nastavení" -> "Síť Z-Wave".

Wall plug is red for half a second (after plugged-in), then white.

So problem is in wall plug. It has damaged non-volatile memory.

I would suggest to send it to your Fibaro dealer for warranty process.

Also, please try that procedure with other devices, that you suspect of having the same issue. It's color says more than we think.

I've exactly the same problem with multiple wall plugs. I really can't imagine these are all plugs with an issue. I changed location of one of the faulty plugs and after that the problem didn't occur for months now. But last two weeks two other plugs got unpaired. I really think it's some software issue. Maybe having something to do with the range as for me it always goes wrong with plugs at the border of my premis.

    Hi @theoverriet

This may be a long shot but if you have excessive amount of backups taking up more than 50% of storage it could be contributing to your 'disconnection' issues

On the diagnostic panel I see System 57% free, recovery 62% free. But as I have lots of backups I removed the oldest one. You never know :-)

    @theoverriet

The recommendation would seem to be to just keep 5 or 6

I had close to 50 (70% used) and when I deleted the number of backups to 4 my system performance went up and the few issues I had disappeared

Hopefully it works for me too. Thank you very much!

Backups for HCL are stored on Fibaro servers. Has nothing to to with local device.

I have the same issue now. Currently almost all devices are getting unpaired and I don’t know how to fix them.
have somebody found a solution of this problem 6 years later?
    it would be very helpful!

    thanks
