I'm on the verge of sending this back as I am convinced its faulty, however I just wanted to check this through with anyone else who may have used these.

Below are the instructions from the manual:

As you can see below, I have wired this in the correct way (im 99% sure)

Now, the switch I am using is a BG 20 AX Outdoor switch, the manual can be found here:

Please login or register to see this link.

It states that for One Way switching, I should use the following:

Quote

7a) For ONE WAY Switching, wire the module as follows:-
Connect LIVE wire to COM terminal
Connect SWITCHED LIVE wire to 1 WAY terminal

I am doing that as you can see, however it suddenly occurred that Fibaro acts as a wireless switch, so in theory should be Two Way switching.  This is where I am confused though:

Quote

7b) For TWO WAY Switching using this Switch & another remote switch, wire the module as follows:-
On one switch:-
Connect LIVE wire to COM terminal
Connect SWITCHED LIVE wire to 1 WAY/L1 terminal
On remote switch, using 3–core cable between switches
Connect wire core 1 between COM terminals
Connect wire core 2 between 1 WAY/L1 terminals
Connect wire core 3 between 2 WAY/L2 terminals

Note - the colours of the wires will be dependent on the type of cable used. See Wire Identification section for reference.
If a supplied Module has been changed for another compatible Switch Module type from the Grid range, the appropriate wiring instructions for the changed Module must be followed.

Does this second bit make any sense to anyone?  If so, any suggestions on how I can wire this up?  It's worth noting too that the pump only comes on when the switch is held down, obviously not correct

why are you using a dimmer for a pump?

would you not be better with a switch 2 ?

It's not a dimmer, its the relay switch:

Well this should work according the wiring.

And i'm little bit confused. It is toggle switch or momentary switch?

Set parameter 14 to value 0. By default it is set to 1, which is Toggle switch.

Are you sure?  In the manual it says it defaults to Momentary.  If the switch is held down when powering on, it changes to Toggle

    Quote

Fibaro Switch is set by default to operate with momentary switches (i.e. single-pole switch or bell switch). While adding Fibaro Switch to the network with toggle switches, ensure that all switch contacts are open (off), because closing them results in activating the push-button and this will prevent adding the device to the network

Should also add that I cant get it to show up atm..

Hmmm, well there are 2 things saying something different in the manual so I dont know which to trust.

Right now, I can't even get it to pair, so I can't change that parameter anyway!

    Trust the Parameter 14.

If you cannot pair, try to include in NWI mode, if it is some distance bigger than 6 meters.

According to the manual of the switch: "The unit has Neon Indicator pre-wired between the COM terminal & terminal block, with a Link wire to 1 WAY terminal.". If this is the case... please remove the connection. If a neon (or any other indicator) is across the switch contacts, the Fibaro module will think the switch is permanently closed.

Yes, I've removed that as it was causing problems.

I've moved the relay right next to by hub and have wired up a lamp to it to test.

    1. Turn power off at wall
    2. Turn power on at wall
    3. Press and hold B for 3 seconds
    4. Turn power off at wall
    5. Put hub into "searching" mode
    6. Press B once

The relay still isn't showing up so I'm confused

Please set HC2 to delete mode, then (quote from the manual):

Push three times: key no. 1 or push-button B located inside the housing of the device. For toggle switch perform 3 position changes.

After clicking 3 times, the "delete" countdown should stop and the dialog box should close.

Then try to add it again.

Success!  OK it works now :)

Now to change the parameter 14, and it should work with my momentary switch (famous last words)

Good news! I can vouch for parameter 14. It's a reliable, trustworthy, noble parameter. Also highly amusing, when set to the wrong value. It's a bit like swapping left and right mouse button. ;-)

OK,  parameter 14 is set, but the momentary switch is extremely temperamental.

I've just pushed it 5 times, and only on the 5th did the light turn off.  Then pressing the button twice turned it on.

I've checked the connections on the back, and I can see that the switch works fine every time, so it seems either the Relay doesn't work properly, or something else is a miss :(

Can you control the relay from the HC web page? Is that reliable?

Yup, that works every time just fine

I can't say I have heard a lot of complaints about the S1 input... and I've been around for a while. Also, The inputs are well protected, so changes of accidental damage are slim. So I'd concentrate on the switch and the wiring. Would it be possible to test the relay with just a small bit (a few meters) of wire/cable and a different switch? Just to rule out a damaged relay?
