Power Outage and HC2 update

Question

Posted

Hi,

Please review attached video.
Yesterday I finally reluctantly initiated a hardware update of HC2.
During the process our suburb lost all power. When the power came back on the HC2 lights were as per the video. 24hrs later they were the same with no connectivity possible.
I performed a factory reset and the HC2 is still flashing as per the video.
What can I do?

Hi @Jamie mccrostie, I tried all of the above with no luck. Have also contacted support from the seller but haven't heard back yet.

Good news, after much tweaking the HC2 now works and is updated. I think the power outage in the suburb affected the local mobile phone tower. It appears that the signal to our mobile broadband device was intermittent (I think). We don't have a phone line at our house so use mobile broadband.

I am back up and running and about to order more items to control the 24 other roller shutters that protect our house from bush fires. ;)

I assume that is because you don't trust the HC2? I'm in a similar position with mine, even when running it on a UPS and getting it to power down properly before UPS runs out, the HC2 doesn't seem to like to come back from being turned off. We've just moved back into our house after some renovations where the HC2 was turned off for some 3 months and it took several attempts to revive it (booting normally, booting to recovery - but not actually recovering, cycling that randomly). I wouldn't trust my HC2 to control anything 'mission critical' that's for sure. But for general home automation to help me out, it's good, if just an expensive toy.

I now cannot access HC2 from the Android app - any ideas?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled app.
