Expansion slots and add-ons

Hello All,

 

I've sen that HCL has 2 expansion slots, situated on the left and on the right of the unit. Reading through google i've seen that one is for gsm and the other is a battery backup. What i didn't find is a place to buy them, does anyone have an idea where i can purchase these add-ons?

Strange that you say concept as it was clearly advertised on the Fibaro website and was the main reason I purchased the HCL.   Very poor when a company can advertise such things but never produce them.

How about some specs for ports so we can develop our own Fibaro plugins

@suds32nz, the concept was to create such additional modules for HCL, but in the process of development the company decided that it will not fulfill the idea and expectations. I apologize that you took it this way.

Personal plugins were disabled in version 4.x. The idea was that it was temporary, but the works on introducing them again was put on hold.

It's really a shame that those plugins are no longer developed. For example Vera has: VERASECURE ADVANCED SMART HOME SECURITY CONTROLLER.

That incorporates an accumulator and the posibility to connect a 3g/4g stick.

 

The main thing that continues to make me stick with Fibaro and not jumping to Vera is the hope that Fibaro will continue to develope it actual platform, otherwise I don't see any future for you guys.

Hi @T.Konopka,

 

I found this information very disturbing. If plugins are put on hold is there anything else that is in development that will fill that gap? Virtual devices are OK, but they are not even close to be used instead of plugins. HC2 is really a jewel in the HA market but it seems that you guys in Fibaro have trouble in deciding how to polish it to shine brighter than others!   I hope I'm wrong in this one!

Hahaha... Perhaps some executives need to learn one or two guiding principles from Steve Jobs biography.

 

I know I did - two that came across my mind straight which I have been practicing at work for last few years:

• Focus
  Elaborate: Jack of all trades but master of none is a pit fall for many in leadership or managerial roles. Pick a few key ones and FOCUS on over-achieve them (aka deliver with high or extremely high quality).
• Trade-Offs
  Elaborate: Everything in life and at work is about risks and trade-offs. Not easy to explain this in just a few words but those in leadership or managerial roles should understand this as it is almost part and parcel of these roles on daily basis.
