constant On Off devices

Question

Posted

In the last 24 hours I have had 3 devices behave strangely. Two Fibaro relays and a Greenwave power node. When turning them on or off they go into a state of turning on and off constantly . I've rebooted the HC2. I've soft reconfigured them to no avail. I eventually removed the light bulb in one room and unplugged to Power Node . Any suggestions. I've done no changes to the system in days

Found the issue - looked for the common factor - turned out all the devices were running block scenes. and set to change to opposite state. somehow the trigger on device change was set on all 3 devices so it constantly went to opposite state which then triggered the scene to run again and again in vicious loop.

One to watch for but am at a lose to understand how this got set on three devices in same day. Although we did have a power failure in the morning.

This is interesting @andyp

I had two lights come on and off every 5 or 10 minutes last week.  One a fibaro relay and one a fibaro dimmer. I had been setting associations on seperate unrelated devices and put it down to that even though it didn't make logical sense. My solution was to exclude / include both devices. My logic was if i did that it would give them a different Id and hence break any associations that existed that I didn't know about.

It solved the problem but I'm don't really know why the issue was caused in the first case unless I take the position that associations between devices on a system are unreliable and capable of misfiring.

I'm running 4.130 and hadn't made any signifigant code changes in the previous week.

Let me know if you find more.....

I have the same problem last couple weeks. Blinds spontaneous close and lights go's on and off (sometime in the middle of the night)

I also have a hard reset an restore a backup, nothing helps....

Finally I renew 2 devices and now its stops for a few days.

I'm running also 4.130 and hadn't made any signifigant code changes in the last month.
