Hi everyone,

I've had HC2 and sonos for quite some time, and never got the two to play together well.

I have tried the fibaro plugin  from the plugins panel.  I give it the IP of one of my players, and I can adjust the volume but nothing else.

I tried both Virtual Devices from the Fibaro UK database  at

Please login or register to see this link.

Neither work.. The fibaro one gives me volume control but nothing else.  The other shows me what is playing, but allows no control whatsoever.

People seem to have this working very simply, so I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks, as mentioend I can get that VD 'working' in that it installs fine, I pop in my IP and port 1400 - and it shows the current track playing.  But I cannot control anything.

    I'm not interested in TTS, all I want to do is have sonos start playing via a scene (i.e, coming home)

    which VD are you using? there are a few variations floating round...

    I've tried both listed on

    Please login or register to see this link.

    - The one by krikroff seems to read data, but not allow any changes - play/pause don't work. Volume does sometimes.

    - The one by Fibaro works volume only

    - The "plugin" from the fibaro plugins panel works similar to above, no control except volume.. No indication anything is playing though, and no play/pause functionality

    No idea why, but now working...

    Deleted and reinstalled multiple times and now seems to be working..

    If i remember correctly it creates a global variable. If that variable isn't created properly then it won't work.

    At least you have it working now.

    OK, had this working for a few weeks... it's now broken again I'm afraid.

    IP is set correctly, and it can clearly talk to the sonos as the volume slider works, however nothing else works - play/pause/skip/etc.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi @swisstoni

    If you have or can get a raspberry pi you could start using the sonos http api.

    @morpheus75 has some excellent videos and tutorials on the topic and there are lots of other solutions posted here with many people now using this to control their Sonos systems...

    From what I read your ask is reasonably simple. If you get a pi then you could get the all running in less than 10 mins.

    Just let either myself or @morpheus75 know and one of us can guide you.

    Trust me when I say you won't look back after starting to use this approach...itd very easy and very reliable .....

    ....just say the word ;D

    Hi @AutoFrank

    I was part of the Sonos Beta testing for the Alexa feature.  I was very disappointed that they did not include the ability to call my Sonos Playlists. With some 11,000 tracks, I can only really manage things through playlists.

    question:  I already run HABRIDGE on a RasPi..  In order to follow your and/or @morpheus75's method of using Sonos, can I add to the current RasPi or do I have to use another RasPi

    thanks

    @lennypenny

    You can use the same Ras Pi to run them both.

    I actually run habridge, sonos-http-api and also dasher (the Amazon dash button hacks) all from same Pi with no issues.

    One of my videos shows how to install both on same Pi

    Thanks @morpheus75.  Now the next question for you and @AutoFrank; How do you get to to address the issue of Playlists?  From memory I think that you created new playlists ?  @AutoFrank; how do you get to run your playlists please?

    @morpheus75, could you please explain your use of "Dasher"

    @morpheus75

    I have to ask what is this about ?

    Hi

    Was gonna do a demo video but been busy.

    Basically the Amazon dash buttons have now been hacked so that you can run a http api call using a rasp pi. The rasp Pi intercepts the button being pressed and runs the http api command.

    The instructions are on github under dasher.

    So my Pi is running 3 different things all perfectly fine.

    Aha, I have a Raspberry Pi floating about somewhere, but have never really used it.

    Is there a complete zero-to-hero guide on getting this up and running? I'm fairly technical but have zero experience on the pi...

    @swisstoni,

    It has been some time already.

    Have you tried Sonos plugin lately?

    Could you post a screenshot from a screen showing your configuration?

    Does this plugin show you Sonos IP at all?

    Yes, I only set it up around a month or two ago so it's running the latest fibaro sonos plugin.

    Plugin is setup correctly - you can tell as it adjusts the volume when you slide the slider. But play/pause/skip/etc won't work.  The only option I have is to set the IP, which is correct (and verified as the volume slider works...)
