Danfoss lc13 battery drain

Question

Posted

I have 3 Danfoss lc13 but i have the problem that i must replace every 2 months the batteries. At first everything looks good but after 2 months i see a red cross on the Danfoss and fail to communicate. If i replaced the batteries it's communicate again. The wake up interval is set on 900 and i can't chance this.

Weird... Can you elaborate? You set the interval to e.g. 915 then save, click on the button on the LC13 or wait at least 15 minutes, then you refresh the browser... is wake up interval still 900?

Those are primary cells, not rechargeable ones?

Might be a communication issue. Try to do "mesh reconfiguration" on a few of your FGS-213. If that succeeds, try mesh reconfigure on one of your LC-13. Does it say "neighbor list received"?

I have tried to set the interval on 1800 then save and wake the lc13 to click on the button, but the interval stays on 900.

I have used different brand's batteries but i never use rechargeable.

The last one i don't no what you mean. How do i do this?

Go to "Configuration", "Z-Wave Network", "Mesh network reconfiguration". Select one of your devices (one of the slaves is OK, it does not matter which one.).

You should see " Requesting neighbor list from the node is in progress" then after 5 - 20 seconds depending on the size of your network: "New neighbor list received". You need to wake up the LC-13 to execute the queued request...

I don't see requesting neighbours list from the node is in progress.

    @petergebruers

I have tried but nothing happens. I select a device and click on reconfigure, the exclamation mark come on by the disk an i click on the disk. But i have waiting a while but nothing happens.

I doing something wrong but i can't figure it out.

You probably started by clicking on a "Device", that is incorrect. You start at "Configuration", top right of the screen, the two cogs....

Go to "Configuration", "Z-Wave Network", "Mesh network reconfiguration". Select one of your devices (one of the slaves is OK, it does not matter which one.).

    I see!

I am a bit clueless... I have never seen anyone report this mesh update command does "nothing" at all...

This is not good... Not good at all.

You are trying a mains powered device? it should say: "Requesting neighbor list from the node is in progress" then after 5 - 20 seconds depending on the size of your network: "New neighbor list received". You do not see anything on the status window?

You do not get *anything* on *any* of your mains operated devices? Have you tried a reboot?

Do you have devices marked as "unconfigured"?

Can you include (new) devices? Be careful, if you exclude a device you might not be able to include it again, I would not try this.

I have 1 device unconfigured this is a nodon wallswitch. I have this week new devices included.

I have done a reboot. But i do what you explained but i get a warning "Attention, reconfiguring mesh network may take long time, are you sure you want to continue?" I click on " i now what i'm doing, continue. " after i click this nothing happens, i have waiting a couple of minutes but nothing.

I cannot think of a particular reason.

It might not have anything to do with battery drain or mesh reconfigure not starting, but "unconfigured" devices is not a good sign. Can you try to remove it, reboot and try mesh reconfigure again? This time, just select "entire Z-Wave network.". If that still does not start anything... I think it'll be a support case...

Edit: do you have slow response? Youemight have scenes that send to many commands to a device per unit of time. Try disabling some suspect scenes.

I don't have slow response and everything is working fine. The only problem is the lc13. I leave this until the weekend. I then have more time to look into this problem. Otherwise i contact Fibaro support.

But thanks for you time that you put into this.

I have a reconfiguring the entire mesh network. But this seems not the problem.

The issue i a battery drain, i must replace every 2 months the batteries off the lc13. Are there more people with this problem? And how have you solve this problem?
