What you experience certainly is not typical. Because inclusion exchanges a TON of data, it is sensitive to what is happening on your network, much more than any other command. And sensitive to interference, though not many devices work on that 868 MHz band in Europe. But you are not in Europe... I don't know how "clean" your RF is... You still own that razberry? You can update to 2.3.6 and use it to display interference, it measures RSSI and also tries to estimate "foreign packets" so it should detect traffic of your other controller. It is in the expert menu. You do not have to use it as secondary controller, just install a fresh copy with new home ID and maybe 1 device to test inclusion...

I am sorry... I meant to say: do you use the EU frequency?

I am not good at geography, nor politics or economics.

    What is Europe anyway?

EDIT before anyone asks, the Americans, Brits, the Chinese are my friends too. I even would say "han people" because "china" is a western word. It is "Zhongguo" (Middle kingdom). My daughter tries to learn Chinese..

    good to hear that.

I have more than 100 devs.

as far back as 5 months ago I have no problems. but now it a nightmare that stalks I sleep

Yes, well, the number of devices certainly plays a part in that... I build my network in several phases and if I remember correctly, no issues < 20 devices. Trouble started around 50. Only recently I had an old Fibaro relay, it no longer displayed status at all times. Tried many things but gave up. I replaced it with a Z-Wave Plus version. Problem solved. I would have thought after all these years... I would be able to explain why the old relay suddenly sometimes did not report "OFF". But I could not find a cause, nor a fix (did implement a workaround for a while: poll the device).

    ha-ha it's an old saw :)

    nice!

but if seriously, upgrading devices is not a good way to solve any problems.

I am speculating, a bit here...  do you have wireless devices operating in the 433 MHz band? Because the 2nd harmonic of that frequency is Z-Wave EU... It is a long shot. I have some test devices somewhere, the kind of "Arduino wireless" boards. I could test that if I can find them

Oh, it certainly felt like "defeat"! But it was either that, or "going mad". Or as my wife puts: "going even MADDER". ;-)

I kind of disagree, in my case: putting a Z-Wave Plus relay in that place (instead of Z-Wave) reinforced the mesh in that part of the house. One possible explanation for the issue is the older relay might have been on the edge of a direct connection. But that is speculation. Does not explain why it became unreliable.

yes. some Arduino devices with Arduino 433MHz Transmitter Receiver Module RF Wireless Link Kit‎ here. 433 China weather clock in meddle daughter room.

    btw. this uN2UZ9QdQf.png

stick (with SDR application) also said about some 433 devices nearby me...

When you tune to 868.42 MHz and try AM modulation or wideband FM... What do you hear? You should hear a clear distinction between background and Z-Wave packets. Also the rhythm can be indicative of the amount of traffic. I'd say it is best to disable AGC of the stick and the application.

I wanted to turn that into a phone notification sound. It scans all possible IDs... it is pretty intense. Inclusion does a neighbor update, so that takes even longer.
