Push-dim / switchdim what Module to use

kroeatschge

Question

Hi guys,

i have installed dimmable LED Strips.

They are powered by DALI drivers from tridonic as mentioned in another topic.

As I don’t want to go the dali route I want to use the push-dim feature which is also supported.

I have installed Fibaro single switch 2 modules. Unfortunately I can’t push-dim with them. At least I haven’t found out how.

They only switch on and off.

What module do I need to be able to long press my toggle switches to get push-dim working?

Short press should toggle on/off and a long press (as long as I hold the button)  should dim up/down.

Thanks for hints.

Hola chicos,

He instalado tiras de LED regulables.

Son alimentados por controladores DALI de tridonic como se menciona en otro tema.

Como no quiero ir a la ruta de Dalí, quiero usar la función push-dim que también es compatible.

He instalado 2 modulos de conmutador único Fibaro. Desafortunadamente no puedo presionar con ellos. Al menos no he descubierto cómo.

Good morning, could you solve it?

Switch 2 modules are not able to dim, they can only switch on or off. If you wish to push and hold to dim you will need a Dimmer 2 module with momentary (bell press) switches and depending on the load may also require a bypass 2

Hi,

I have exactly  the same problem,

Trying to use a Fibaro module to control LED Push-Dim driver.

Fibaro Dimmer 2 is designed for  Triac Phase-Cut driver so there is no use to it in this application.

Push-Dim driver are controlled by regular Momentary Switch (Push Button - Short press Toggle on/off, Long Press Dim),

So, My logic says you can use Fibaro Switch with Momentary Switch Connected to S1 to simulate the action of a Regular Momentary switch or Push Button.

You can use the Auto off function with time parameter set to 0 to create the fast ON/OFF action which is like short press on the button , this will turn the lights on/off , tested it and it works.

Still didn't find the right solution for simulating the long Press for the Dim function.

If you found any solution please share.

Thanks.

  • hey guys,

    look what I found

Please login or register to see this link.

. Maybe sunricher is solving this issue finaly for us:

SR-2411-ZV-DIM a Z-Wave to DALI convertor. Not specifically a push-dim solution, but I think most push-dim are DALI dimmers.

Unfortunately no place to buy it so far.

    Hello guys

I'm in the same situation here :)

I have a LED Luminaire driven by a OSRAM OTi DALI 50/220-240/1A4 LT2 FAN (I can control it with ON/OFF, PUSH-DIM or DALI).

Thanks kroeatschge for the Sunricher tip. Have you been able to test it ?

My understanding is that using the dali interface would require a DALI bus already in place... with a DALI power supply on that bus (which I don't) !

    Cheers

  • hi @vly,

no, unfortunately the device is not available anywhere.

It only appears in some PDFs.

The only available options are for Zigbee->Dali like

Please login or register to see this link.

    .

If you are in the lucky situation to have a controller that also supports Zigbee you can try that device.
