open a blind after a scene

tomas.parreiro

Question

I do not know if it is possible to have any solution to this situation:

- I have an automatic scene that closes the shutters if the outside temperature is above 25º C. (It does not matter if I'm at home or outside)

In some situations, when I get home, I want to open one of the blinds, even if the outside temperature is above 25º C.

The blind opens, but after a few moments it closes again because of the rule scene.

If I do not want to close the blinds automatically when I'm at home, I need to add a GPS position, right?

Or is there another solution? Suppose I want to open the blinds for some reason but I'm out of the house ...

thank you

If I understand your use case correctly, in essence you want the action to be executed at maximum once per day and suppress further actions one the same day. This is possible and I had two variants running on HCL for 1 1/2 years before I switched to HC2.

(A) You could limit the scene number of instances to 1 and add a long timeout, say 12 hours, at the end of the scene, thus avoiding the scene is run again during that period

(B) Another more resource friendly way is to use a global help variable. Say the scene closes the blinds when the variable is set "0". After that, the scene sets the variable to "1". When the scene is triggered again, the blinds are not touched. Then, in another scene, you can reset the variable to "0" at midnight to be ready for the next day.

Cheers,

Hi @jayrock,

i woul'd: (A) Not disable the scene functionality, but create an extra condition like (B)

               (B) Greate a global variable indeed and make a VD to change it's value :-)
