Combustible gas detector

Question

I am looking for a propane gas detector. The only z-wave version I have found, is the one by

, but they seem to be going out of business. An alternative would be to buy a stand-alone gas detector/alarm, and connect some output signal to a Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor. A third possibility is to build one from scratch, buying individual components for the sensor, the control and the z-wave module.

, using Arduino, could be a start. Please note that most combustible gas detectors cover natural gas (methane) as well as LPG (propane/butane), but CO detectors are different.

Any thoughts (or better yet: experience) on any of these alternatives?

Found this on AliExpress. I don't have one, so I don't know how well it works:

  • I prefer the one suggested by @Timbo , as this seemingly is a complete z-wave device. The one you found, @Fabir , requires too much tinkering to include it through the UBS. But I may consider it as a stand-alone (asking myself, do I really need this alarm in the HC2?) Thanks to both of you for looking this up.
