Alexa skill does not find any devices

Question

Good evening everybody,

 

i had some problems with the Alexa skill lately, so I decided to delete all scenes and devices in the Alexa app and deactivate and activate the skill again.

 

So far, so good. I could connect the skill again, but Alexa could not find any device. I have round about 100, but none of them was found. After 10 times searching for devices, deactivating the skill and activate it again, I had at least 70 of my scenes found, but the devices are still missing.

 

I found a support document from fibaro, that defined a minimum software version, remote access and that the home center is listed on first position on home.fibaro.com. I checked all three things... no problem here.

 

Why does Alexa not find any devices?

Some ideas?

Same problem here, I try to downgrade various firmwares en my HC2 with no luck, the fibaro service not answer my opened ticket with a solution, very frustrated with this issue.

We found that there is an issue with device ID within Alexa skills - we informed Amazon about it and we are working on the fix on our side as well.

I did not receive any estimated time of fix release, but it has a high priority so it is expected that it will be solved during this week.

So stay tuned and I apologize for inconvenience!

Still no fix right? It does not detect any device or scene.

  • Six weeks later and still no fix. Fibaro support stopped answering my eMails. Just created a second ticket.

    And i wrote several emails to Fibaro directors and their CEO; I wrote to all email adresses i could find. Even wrote to their facebook page. Its time to escalate that a bit

  • Update: Fibaro wrote me an email. There have been changes from amazon, where Fibaro did not get an information and thats why finding devices isnt working anymore. They are already fixxing it and reached test phase already. They ask for patience and chances are, that it will be fixed until end of this week.

    I can confirm that the fix has been already implemented. It should be available for users worldwide.

    Should you face any issues with the duplicates of scenes or devices, simply use "Forget All" and "Discover" them again.

     

    Feel free to post feedback about the fix! :)

  • Worked on my side. After searching for devices it said „150 scenes found“. But scenes were available before that. So i checked and found out, that all devices have been found again. I did not compare devices with my homecenter yet, but on the first view it looks like all devices have been found.

     

    Thank you Fibaro.

     

    I hope, this solution will work soon for all other people as well.

    In Spain same problem no detect devices, i delete the skill and reinstall with same result 0 devices detected, very frustrated

    Still same problem. Also update to version 4.453 did not help.

    I cannot confirm that it is working!. I deleted all devices (over alexa.amazon.com interface). Removed skill and added again. Found nothing. What else can I do. What did you do? Which version do you have?
