Battery drain Fibaro D/W sensor with DS18B20

kevin

Question

Hi,

I have a Fibaro Door/Windows sensor V1 with a DS18B20 waterproof for temperature measurement only. The battery drains very quickly while the temperature hardly changes. In 10 hours it drains 5% of battery life, that means I need to change the battery every 8 days:-| that will be expensive.

I only need a update interval every hour. What do you advice to use as setting? Do you advise to change the polling time interval for this device?

Parameter 12 is set on 1ºC

Thank you in advance.

Kevin

Hi @kevin,

Take a look at parameter 3

Parameter 3 - Visual LED indications
This parameter defines events indicated by the visual LED indicator. Disabling events might extend battery

Put it on ...  0 - no indications

When you added the sensor into the system was it nearby your controller?

I always check

x Selecteer als een apparaat ver weg is van de Home Center.

x NWI - Netwerk-Wide Inclusions

  • Hi @Sjekke

    LED is disabled.

When I added the sensor it was nearby the controller. After that inclusion it was 6 meters away from the Home Center, and in the middle of my complete Z-Wave (mesh) network
