Cannot reset Fibaro FGS-212

Hi,

 

For the past many hours have been moving all of my devices from a Samsung Smartthings V2 to V3 hub.  Most devices i’ve been able to work though - but am stuck with the Fibaro FGS-212 Relay, which i use in my garage and home gym to switch lights.

 

Have tried everything i can think of, and everything i've read:

  • Moved hub to be next to the relay
  • Switched off mains first, and then switched on again before resetting (holding down B button for 3 seconds)
  • Tried Smartthings exlusion mode, with combinations of pressing the B button 3 times, and holding down for 3 seconds
  • Tried re adding through both the classic and the newer ST app

… but nothing will see them reconnect. I have 3 in total across the house, so loath to write off the money. Must be something i’m doing wrong. Total time spent so far trying to do this would be well over 3 hours. 

 

The only thing I haven’t tried is holding down the B button for 3 seconds *as* the power it switched back on  - which you can infer from the manual, but it’s not explicit. I can't believe that is the solution though - it would encourage people without a second person to switch off the mains fuse to reconnect a live wire, which can't be safe. 

 

Any help much appreciated. I wouldn't spend £180 on new relays just because I have a new hub....

I am afraid that "holding down the B button for 3 seconds *as* the power it switched back on" is the only solution. I usually ask my wife to turn off and on circuit breakers while I hold the B-button. Then after including the switch you have to turn off and on circuit breaker once more to get the switch to work.

    i feared it might be that - i'll try when the wife gets home (and probably tells me off for not doing any DIY, even though i've spent about 20 hours moving all the smart stuff to a new hub :))

    Any controller can exclude and reset any z-wave device at any time. So put your Samsung hub in"exclude" mode or whatever it is called. Then perform the "right exclude click sequence" on the device, it is in the manual. You can use S1 for that (or the small button on the device). The fact that it is not the original hub (the one that included the device) does not matter. Any controller can exclude and reset any z-wave device at any time.

    Hi, yes - have tried that, every time I try and exclude I leave the hub in exclude mode. 

     

    Its the “correct exclusion sequence from the manual” that is tripping me up ... nothing I try does anything. 

     

    When back next i’ll try holding the B button down as I flip the fuse breaker back on ah the mains (need the wife home to do that), as suggested above ...

    I don't know how to set Samsung to exclude devices. I know how yo do that on HC2/HCL, domoticz, hass, ...

     

    Then, on your FGS: Add/Remove Fibaro Switch to the network by pushing three times key no. 1 or push-button B located inside the housing of the device. For 
    toggle switch perform 3 position changes.

     

    I have used this many, many times. In fact I excluded/reset several devices this week, simply by excluding them. It is much easier than the reset procedure of some devices, eg no need to cut the power to the module.

    I cannot test this easily, but I have tried reseting similar relays in the past and found timing to be critical...

    In the end, i did need to hold down the reset button whilst restoring power - nothing else worked. All in i spent about 5 hours trying to reset these - not a fun process..
