Don't see any reason why not... have previous generation, works fine.

Might be the parameters' template not supported, but you can set parameters w/o template also.

What problems do you have? the siren should work per factory default setting.

The download template that you see, is a template that you can send to fibaro support.

As I mentioned, you can set or change any parameter by add parameter.

Please login or register to see this spoiler.

Now insert parameter number, size and value according to product manual

As far as I know to configure Aeon sirens is not an easy task.

Let me know if you need help.  (post what you want to change and user manual)

    Hi @marcofox

So, I must buy a Aeotec Siren 5

May I suggest to take a look on Everspring SE812 – Siren.

Please login or register to see this link.

Main advantage that this type of siren can work on batteries also (4 x size C) and it works for me for last two and half years w/o replacing batteries (and counting)

Correct, but you can set parameters to make it work as well.

The 8 default tones  (out of 30) arte more than enogh for home..

But what I am missing is just the volume control....

Dear @Sankotronic, maybe you have a solution for it?  Maybe to add a Slider..... or at least the Command to change the value pf the volume ((alarmLevel???)

I noted the SW for this Virtual Device   for each button is in TXT format and not in LUA, if I change it to Lua it does not function...

    read the Aeotec description:

1- yes, this is text based VD, as it have to work on HCL too

2- you have to encode your user/Passwort with base64 and replace these Z2lvdmEudmluY2lAZ21haWwuY29tOkZkdXFwdigwOTIwMTkp=

3 - but as you on HC2, simply use turnOn or turnOff for each Sound, nothing else.

Sadly Aeotec dont provide volume parameter for older gateways. It whould be so easy instead of doing it by newer command class which HC2 doesnt have.

To make the best of it, you can choose a much quiter tone for your purpose: I created a VD similar to above. In addition it provides changing tones for "browse" device (there are 30 build in tones). Note: It only works for one device!!! All other seven siren devices doesnt provide this possibility for HC2, as I can see it in aeotec engineering specification. I also described changing of the tone by parameter in this

Please login or register to see this link.

for doorbell 6, whitch functionality is nearly similar to siren 6.

    VD description:

Remark: All manual created parameters of siren, if you have create some, will be overwritten or deleted!

    1. Download attached fvib-file and add virtual device to HC2

    2. Locate ID from your siren/doorbell 6 (be carefull, choose the ID from your first slave device:

Please login or register to see this image.

    /monthly_2020_01/image.png.cc5a5932f44bba5816dc3b0ec27c9cba.png" />

    3. Put ID in TCP Port of VD

    image.png.f14042a47aba1279702420f65d53a928.png

    4. Press save button

    5. VD should appear like:

    image.png.5ee883267b44e251c9e255353a7a47bb.png

    6. Now you can loop all 30 tones for your browse device by pressing "Browse All". Press it 1x and wait! The duration of some tones is up to 30 seconds so you have to be patient (put siren under a pillow is a good idea ?).

    7. If you press "Select Browse" the actual playing tone is set for the browse device.

I also have attached two icons for VD and buttons.

    Hope it helps...

Hi @Giovanni_Genoa, that will not work. I didn't mentioned in my last post. "Value" of the siren devices can't be read out from HC2 for any reason. It's always on "false" even if siren is on. So I outcommended the according lines in the main loop. You can even delete the main loop. If you want to change icons, you have to do it for each button.

    Hi to all

Here the full reply from AEOTEC

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the volume in HomeCenter2. We have a workaround which requires a Z-Stick or UZB Stick.

Please login or register to see this link.

    1. Download Zensys Tools here:

Please login or register to see this link.

    2. Close Software that is linked to Z-Stick Gen5

    3. Unzip Zensys Tools file, and open the .exe file.

    4. Click and highlight your Doorbell 6 (in our image, it is Node #3)

    5. Select "Node Info" button (4th button on the left)

Please login or register to see this image.

    6. Now open up "Command Class" tab on the right side of the software

    7. Select:

    Command Classes: "COMMAND_CLASS_MULTI_CHANNEL_V2"

    Command Name: "MULTI_CHANNEL_CMD_ENCAP"

    8. Input these Values:

Source End Point: 00 // leave as default

Res: 00 //Don't touch this, this does nothing.

Destination Endpoint: 02 // Tamper Switch endpoint of Siren or Doorbell 6, you can use this to control sound of your button or other alarm options

    • Endpoint 01 - Play sound
    • Endpoint 02 - Tamper Switch
    • Endpoint 03 - Button #1
    • Endpoint 04 - Button #2
    • Endpoint 05 - Button #3
    • Endpoint 06 to 08 - Various alarm usecases.

    Bit address: 00

Command Class: 79 //Sound Switch Command Class

Command: 05 //Sound Switch Configuration Set Command

    Parameter: 05 01 //Volume #5 (as 05) Sounds #01 (as 01)

    • Volume is a range between 00 - 65 (in hex which is 0 - 100 in decimal or easily seen as 0 - 100%)
    • Sound can be a range between 00 - 1E (or decimal value of 1 - 30 or sound #1 - 30).
      • Example, Sound = 05, Volume = 0A (10%)
        • Parameter: 0A 05

    Hi @AndyY, @tinman,

I followed the kind suggestion from AEOTED Support: Mr Sebastian Putz (field Application Engineer)

Just to confirm you a I purchased a UZB1 from the big store Amazon the stick ( 29,65 €) without any license license,

and using the Zensys tool  I succeded to regulate the 8 channels of Siren& with the Volume settings and Tones, according to my specific needs.
I would say that after all using the bell  for Home safety/security/Tech/Dorbell  , 8 tones are more than enough.

I will Use the VD of ANDYY just to chage tome on Endpoint 1, in case of need....

Many thanks for your advise and suggestions.

    To complete...

    1. Pair siren 6

    2. Backup Fibaro (safety first)

3,. Pair usb z wave stick....

    4. After pairing usb z wave stick ,  HC2 results unable  to pair further devices....

         reported error....  don't worry about

    5. Set up the tones and volume  of all endpoints (8) of Siren 6 according to your needs.....

    6. Verify the 8  tones are ringing properly...

    7. Delete usb z wavexstick  from the system and store it in your drawer.... Fibaro's  add device  function returns  to work properly

    8. If not,  ensure that z wave stick is not any more in the system and then

    9. Restore last  backup.

Note:  in my case it was enough to delete the stick from the network.

Hope  above will help some of you.
