Fibaro: A proposal - Release HC3 beta firmwares

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi Fibaro,

As the current HC3 is really buggy, and missing announced feature. Would you please start releasing beta firmwares to it, so users who want to install the latest, bleeding edge (and perhaps unstable) firmware can do that. You already do it to the HC2, so please, start giving that option to the HC3, too.

I know that "soon" a new firmware will be released, but start pushing frequent betas, too. As the firmware is right now, it is very immature. The HC3 costs 610 Euro, and that is a lot of money spent on a smart home controller thats currently very limited compared to what it was announced to be.

Best regards,

Exactly, again, it will take a long time ...  I also bought HC3 in good faith that basic things will work,

but it's not like this:

- notification does not work
- user locations are not working
- Alexa doesn't work
- Siri doesn`t not work
- I updated 6 devices without problems, the other 12 I can't ???
- HC3 hangs today after a week (I have to activate old ZIPATO box)
- etc.

These are all basic things that Fibaro should have in his little finger.

While HC3 is far from where it should be at release date, I would not go so far as to start up my Zipato Zipatile again...  That one hangs several times a week because their services go down several times per week. The support when I was using my Zipatile was non-existent, and at times their support lashed out on the users who complained about the lack of support and constant service loss. Maybe the support are better today(?), but I check their forum from time to time, and it still seems their services go down very frequently.

By the way, I've written support and asked if they could start release beta firmwares for the HC3, like they do for the HC2. No answer yet, though.

Hopefully we'll see a new firmware on Thursday, then. And I hope Fibaro will start releasing beta firmwares for the HC3, too.
