Replacing Climate with bunch of scenes - viable solution?

cincura.net

Question

Hi, I need more temperature changes for one specific room/zone than what the Climate panel offers (or at least I don't know how to add more that what's pre-defined). Thus I'm thinking using just a thermostat device and bunch of scenes to set the temperatures. As far as I can see, that should work. Or is there anything that the Climate panel offers and I don't see it?

Hi there. I've created a VD+Scene for my heating and it works just fine. It has a lot of advantages over the heating panel and the biggest one is that it is stable and you have full control over how it works. Heating panel for example also turned on my ACs in heating mode and there is just no way to exclude device from heating zone manually. So I totally recommend scene+VD approach.
