Question

Posted

Hi there ?

I’m looking for a way to populate QuickApp variable from a LUA scene.

I know I can GET variables by querying the API :

but can we also populate them ?

Have a good day !

    how would i check if the variable exits?

    function getVariable(deviceID,name)

        for _,v  in ipairs(api.get("/devices/"..deviceID).properties.quickAppVariables) do

            if v.name==varName then return v.value end

        end

    end

    and then if the result is nil does that mean the variable does not exist?

    also running this seems to loop for ever

    function setVariable(deviceId,name,value)

        local vs = api.get("/devices/"..deviceId.."/properties/quickAppVariables")["value"]

        --local vs = api.get("/devices/"..deviceId.."/properties/quickAppVariables").value

        for _,v in ipairs(vs) do

            if v.name==name then -- existing

                v.value = value

                return api.put("/devices/"..deviceId,{properties={quickAppVariables=vs}})

            end

        end

        vs[#vs+1]={name=name,value=value} -- new

        api.put("/devices/"..deviceId,{properties={quickAppVariables=vs}})

    end
