New to home automatisation

Hi,

 

My wife and I just bought a house and i want to have some automation but i haven't bought a system yet.

The first step i want to do is an alarm and i have checked for a few products and want to know if they are compliant with Fibaro.

 

first i am not sure if i am buying a HC2 or a HC3.

 

first question is about the Yale door handle. is that one compliant with Fibaro? 

        - If i activate the alarm will it lock?

 

second question is i found a few products from google nest. Nest Hello and a camera that handles pets.

        - Do i need the router or is the connection possible without it?

Re HC2 vs HC3: the HC2 seems quite stable and I haven't had any problems with it.  Some people have reported issues with the HC3, given it is still new, but these are being worked out.  With either system, don't expect plug and play every time, the Fibaro system takes some effort to get up and running, but the payoff is a pretty robust system and it is very flexible when you use LUA.

 

Re Yale, do a search on here and you'll see people with Yale locks.  Also see here

And yes, you should be able to write a scene that locks the door when you activate the alarm.

Want to buy hc3 ? Because i am looking for new sucker like me who bought it? I strongly suggest to buy other sistem.
