Repeated issue with 4.600

Question

Posted

Hi,

HC2 running 4.600. Pretty simple setup with just Fibaro Dimmers and a couple of blind controllers. 2 remotes which trigger LUA scripts. Nothing complex.

The unit is running really hot and if I look in diagnostics, 1 CPU is maxed out then it flips to the other and back.  I also lose z-wave connectivity once every couple of hours and have to reboot.  A couple of times the unit wouldn't come back up at all and I had to use recovery mode.

Is this unit just faulty?  Would a downgrade to 4.590 help? (and does anyone have the link to the patch file - the usual format doesn't seem to work).

If i can't get this resolved, I'll have to go over to a vera!

If the RAM is quickly eaten up or if the processor "hits the ceiling", it may be due to an incorrectly written scene or VD if you have it.
Check your scenes if you have a time loop with too short a time which means that the scene works too intensively.

It may also be due to a device that is not configured correctly. You can test by doing a Soft Reconfiguration on the devices to see if it helps.

Thanks RH_Dreambox.  I just factory reset but CPU is still maxed with no devices or scenes. It reset to 4.600.

Just to close this out for anyone who comes across it.  Found the link and downgraded to 4.590. Restored from my 4.544 backup and it seems back to normal.  CPU at 3% & running cooler.  Will keep an eye on things over the next few days but fingers crossed.

    Careful with those "upgrades" folks.
