The dimmer 2 from fibaro also flickers? I have the same issue with technisat dimmers. Seems to be a problem with led dimmable

Hello Kelvincoffey, are you sure HC2 has not changed its IP address? Have you tried to use FIBARO Finder or maybe even IP scanner like mobile app FING network scanner? Strongly recommending to download FING app. :)

Seems to be a problem with the latest release, my HC2 will not start up correctly after update. Have restarted several times, used fibaro finder (the HC2 has still the same IP adress as before software update). Any ideas to wake the HC2 up again? Or is it a total reset that is needed?

@hendem76 Would you mind if I ask what you can observe in web user interface? Is it something like "starting services" or blank page?

Have you maybe tried to connect via id.cloud.fibaro.com or mobile APP to your HC? Can you reach that or neither of these is possible?

Please contact support, they will assist you with resolving the issue.

    1. Dimmer 2 is a disgrace

    2. yes I know the IP, validated via unifi device list

    3. cloud shows it’s offline

    4. app can’t discover it

just a normal release for fibaro really.

Had the same issue and initially thought it was brick but after a power cycle it all came back. Current issue i have is the heating which has now stopped all together after this update.

    Looking to roll back soon.

The same for me - all heating has stopped!

    Ended up fixing it.

after many reboots I got into web ui.  Nothing worked, no zwave comms.   Did a delete and restore via webui recovery and it rebooted with my current login and config... so the image was stuffed.

did a hard reboot into recovery mode from USB, upgraded to current version and a cloud restore.   Back working.

now to look at the heating drama that was in the release notes.

I am glad I am not the only one that thinks the dimmer 2 is a disgrace.

I swapped over 50 dimmer 1s for dimmers 2s and have no end of problems.... load errors, overload, flickering at low levels, calibration issues.

I even did 3 wire connections in the new part of my house and the same issues arise.

The dimmer 1 was a more stable device by a country mile.

I wonder how many years before a firmware update will be released to fix some of these issues.

Please check that the flickers are due to the minimum dimming value.

Some LED bulbs require a minimum level of dimming to work. If the minimum level is exceeded, the led bulb can flickers.

    please change parameter no.1.

What a pleasant surprise to hear from someone from Fibaro. I'll wait to see if I get contacted directly before I do my usual of spending countless hours documenting an issue to not ever having it looked at.

I have 55 Dimmer 2s and quite a few have intermittent issues....

Overcurrent can be really what it means, too much Watt, but I know you and I bet you are "within spec".

But it is not always about "load in Watts" - it sometimes is about "number of bulbs in parallel". Technically speaking, a Dimmer 2 can only drive a certain number of "capacitors" that are in the power supply, so a number of "microfarad", but that is a nonsensical specification for most people though it is a rather good way to specify it, very annoying :(. that number is quite high, but based on reports and from the top of my memory, it *cannot* drive 18 GU10 lamps that are 3 W each, though the total amount of Watt is in spec.

To make it even more confusing, It depends on the type of lamp. Some have no capacitors at all, some have circuits to limit the inrush.

Overcurrent can also mean you are using "Bypass version 1" instead of version 2.

I think there is a difference in driving capacity between "leading" and "trailing" setting but I am not sure, I never tested it.

In theory "trailing edge" is correct for most LED bulbs but some users report different dimming behaviour or even flicker, so it's worth trying both. Because you were happy with "Dimmer 1" on those lamps, it is worth trying "leading edge" because that's all it can do... BTW the technology in Dimmer 1 is of a certain type that does not allow for overcurrent protection. It will happily drive itself to death with nasty loads.

We will be contacting people on priv to diagnose the described problems.

I’ll believe it when I see it

ive got 20 dimmer 2s that are near unusable and I’ve stopped deploying zwave as a result and using good old Clipsal normal mechanic switch.

and when people ask why half my house is automated and half isn’t, I just say because fibaro is absolute trash.

    change my mind fibaro.

Sorry if you posted it already, but how are they not working for you?

Mine work, they just report errors quite frequently, or at least more frequently that I would like.

An then there is some flickering on circuits with very few bulbs, that a bypass 2 does not seem to fix, however I have not put in high wattage  bulbs to re-test, yet.

Ok, I saw your tag "Stopped buying Fibaro as Dimmer 2's flicker like crazy and Fibaro don't seem to listen or care.  "

Support is for l*sers .... ha, ha, ha, ha :)  Read my posts so you can understand why I say that.

    1) I guess you tried Fibaro bypass 2's?

It helps sometimes, despite being painful to pay the extra £10 or whatever it costs in Aussie-pesos on top of the device, especially when the bypass surely should cost a couple of quid

PS: incase you get offended, I was born in Adelaide, so I can call them pesos :)

    2) How many different bulbs have you tried?

I had to go through about 7-8 to get what I wanted. Many do not work!

For GU10 bulbs this style worked for me, I wouldn't get hung up on the exact model as I have even found variations in quality across the years... the original dimtones were a work of art, them the quality dropped drastically; I guess to compete with the el-cheapo imports from the east.

Of course you may, tell me, I've been there and done that, but checking in, just in case some of my pain can be shared to lighten your load.

Seriously, do not give up on the bulbs... I literally ordered 7+ and the best wasn't as good as my old bulbs, but at least they do not flicker - except in some places where I am yet to muster the courage to figure out why they are playing up.

If the above doesn't work, give me more info and let's see if we can't debug it.
