Old linux distro

Looking at the logs the HC3 OS seems to be based on an old Linux distro: Linaro GCC 7.3-2018.05

 

So how does everybody feel about using a (almost) 3 year old linux distro, security wise?
Shouldn't this be updated to a recent version of Linaro?
