fibaro button as a outdor door bell

flamast3r

Question

Hi,

I have Aeotec bell, and few other siren, now i using aeotec button dedicated to this Aeotec bell, but when i press the button i do not see any reaction/reporting/status change on HC2 (Aeotec bell does not change status from OFF to ON) so i do not know when someone press the button. I would like make a scene when bell rings a get push msg on my mobile. So, i have idea to change this Aeotec button to Fibaro button, then i have scene support click where I switch bell to ON and send MSG. Someone use fibaro button as a outdoor button? I would like to mount the button on the wicket.

Best regards,

Arthur

Hi - i think:

1. the Button is not outdoor useable

2. it is battery powered

3. the button is not vandalism safety

Greetings

Doorbell button is for use outside.

2. true

3. true its easy to demount if you know how.

If you read the manual you will discover the pusher has no zwave connection with doorbell.

Perhaps I mix with HC3

If push the button (and pusher is connected with zwave device, doorbell rings.

Yes, but I do not have electric current around wicket and none cables around which can be used.

Hi, know that button connect to bell base on 433Mhz (the same way like fibro temperature sensor with heat controller) w/o z wave, but I assumed that click on button will change status from OFF to ON on ring bell but that doesn't happen or button will be present in HC somehow like temperature seonsor.

    Hi flamast3r

I use the fibaro button outside for doorbell at my gate for 5 months now. I have a scene which start Aoetec doorbell 6 when button is push.

I know the Button is not for outdoor use and maybe it wont make it now its getting winter ;-)

So far the battery been ok, i did not change it since i installed it. But nobody hardly use doorbell anymore.

The button is not vandalism safety, but its still alive out there.

My plan was when the button is pressed It would show the camera image in my google home to show live preview.

at the moment i have a scene, so when someone push the button i receive a email with the camera pic of the gate and get an announcement on my google home and the doorbell rings.

Doorbell 6 have .3 as the z-wave child. Then you can test against xxx.3 (xxx is the id in Fibaro). You can use it in a scene.

    Hi,

HC2 show 1.5 but I am not sure if fibaro reads that value properly.

Thank you for your response, this is exactly what I want to achieve. Whether your button is exposed to the rain?
