HC3 Scenes, inputting variables on the fly

Question

Posted

Hi All.

Is it possible to set up a scene on the hc3, whereby I run the scene, then input which zone I want to affect?

At the moment I have about 20 scenes to turn off heating to various zones, ideally I would like just one scene, and then choose the zone to switch off, ideally from a drop down menu.

Is LUA able to do this?

Make a QA with 20 buttons where each button sets a common global variable with the zone id

Then have 1 scene that triggers on that global variable and depending on its value switch of specified zone.

...or just do everything in the QA (turning off the zone)

    Thanks for that @jgab.

I'm new to this, I assume QA is Quick apps?

Could you point me at any resource easily available to get me started?

I used to be a dab hand at Qbasic, VBA etc. many years ago, so hopefully I can pick it up fairly quickly.

Or alternatively, are there any kind souls on the forum who would code it for cash?
