What do you mean by reset Hue bulb ? The Hue bridge ?

He means factory reset it via HUE hub before adding to HC3.

I updated to 5.102.23 (beta) en there is Zigbee support ?

Added Xiaomi Mijia Smart Temperature and Humidity Sensor  without problems ?

Who have other devices who works with Fibaro HC3?

Hi, may I ask where did you get MAC address and Installation code for Xiaomi devices?
I have a couple of SmartMi Evaporative Humidifier 2 (CJXJSQ04ZM) and Mi Air Purifier 2S (AC-M4-AA). Would be great to integrate them directly with Fibaro, but I've never been working with ZigBee and I don't know where to get the MAC address. In the case of Xiaomi, I read that the devices have a Bind Key, which is probably this Installation code, but also do not know how to get it.

Are you use those are Zigbee devices? sounds more like Bluetooth or WiFi. Google doesn't give me a definite answer....

They are not on this list of ZigBee devices and this site is quite comprehensive!

Please login or register to see this link.

On Bangood, I saw this mentioned on the CJXJSQ04ZM page: "Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b / g / n 2,4 GHz". Bangood isn't my first source of information, but the lack of a red ZigBee logo confirms my idea.

BTW not all Xiaomi temperature or motion sensor devices are ZigBee either, the recent ones are actually Bluetooth.

To all users: be careful when you order similar looking devices... Often variants with ZigBee or Bluetooth or Wireless exist (especially the TuYa devices) but they are rarely multi-protocol. Hue is an exception to that rule, recent devices do both ZigBee and BLE at the same time.

I knew I had seen a list of WiFi devices before. The protocol is commonly known as MIIO.

HCx does not support MIIO protocol.

So those aren't ZigBee...

I read this yesterday :

Note that the official Philips Hue support documents only recommend resetting a system if you're told to by a customer service advisor — it's not something to do lightly. Depending on your setup, you may need to enter the serial numbers of your Hue bulbs to add them again after a reset.

Remember that resetting your Hue Bridge means all your lights and accessories are forgotten on the network. You'll lose your preferences, light groupings, scenes, routines, widgets and so on. It really is a last-resort option.

Because i have a lot hue devices i don't feel like adding them again to the bridge by serial number.

I think this is an old article and maybe some  of you reinstalled the lights on the bridge after adding them to HC3.

How did you do that ? The normal way or did you have to add the serial numbers ?

I only own one Hue Bulb, it is this one and the websites lists 5 ways to reset the bulb. After reset you can youn it to HC3 (or z2m)

Please login or register to see this link.

I used these 2 methods with success, I did not try the other 3 options

  • Install the Philips Hue Bluetooth app for Android or iOS. You can use the app to trigger a factory reset on a paired light. I bought this bulb in 2019 and is one of the first generation Hue devices to support Bluetooth.
  • Hue dimmer switch: Hold the I/On and 0/Off button pressed simultaneously for 10 to 12 seconds until the bulb flashes, then stops. Release the buttons after a second. Switch the bulb off and on again.

I don't own a Hue Bridge, I cannot tell how you would get your devices back on your bridge, if you wanted that for some reason. That story about serial numbers may apply to their bridge, I have never seen it on Zigbee2MQTT or DECONZ or ZHA Zigbee implementations. Or maybe it is a new thing... I haven't bought ZigBee devices after 2020...

I've been looking for a possibility to backup all the settings of the bridge but unfortunately there is no way.

All the settings of my accessoires like dimmers and taps are stored in the bridge so i really need it to run again.

I will give it a try........

Hehehe, as Douglas Adams mentioned in 1978 in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", you just need some "Babel Fish". The Babel fish is a small, bright yellow fish, which can be placed in someone's ear in order for them to be able to hear any language translated into their first language.

Just successfully connected Phillips Hue Lily.

I'm just experiencing some bugs with using these devices in scenes. But it's beta...

You also need to reset the lights. "to reset a device" in ZigBee also means "make ready to include". Unlike Z-Wave, there is no "include button" so after reset the device becomes ready to accept (aka "join") a controller.

EDIT: as an example, on how to reset I posted this on Tuesday, you may have missed its significance back then:

Thanks Peter didn't see that.

BUT.........

I tried with one bulb and was able to add it to HC3

Then i tried to add it to the bridge again and bulb was gone in HC3

So with a lot of lights and accessoires i can't use them in HC3 i guess.......

Sad.....

Good.

Correct.

A device can only belong to one ZigBee network.

And a ZigBee network can have only one, and exactly one, controller ("coordinator" in ZigBee-speak)

Your attempt to get the light on both HC3 suggests to me that you have control devices on the Hue network, like a dimmer switch or a motion sensor, and still some other devices you want to control?

For some functions, like a "motion" sensor I see no problem to keep it on the Hue Bridge, but have the lamp on HC3. A scene can be triggered by the sensor and turn on the bulb.

For devices, like the 4 button dimmer remote, that might be trickier, you might be used to having the remote control the lamp directly. You can still do that, but only after you move the dimmer remote to your HC3, then "touch link" the remote and the bulb. I cannot confirm this with 100% certainty, only 99%... I do own the equivalent TRADFRI devices: a 5 button remote and a TRADFRI bulb. Both joined to HC3 and the remote "touch linked" - so the lamp can be controlled without having to write scenes.

You might want to go slowly with this, it is still beta and I highly recommend to follow this topic on compatibility:

At the moment, not too many reports on HUE compatibility. Which does not surprise me, because typically you would have a HUE Bridge - how else would you have started this ecosystem...
