Energy panel values is different from energy API values

Question

Posted

I have made myself a quite simple quickapp to display todays and yesterdays energy consumption on some devices using energy api to fecth data.

But I have noticed that values reported by hc3/api/energy...... is different (higher) than what is displayed under device/advanced and energy panel.

Anybody knows why this would have different values? And which one is more correct?

    Agree, that looks strange..

Thinking about a few possible issues, but a bit hard to know when I don’t know how your system is setup & configured.

    - In your QA, how do you determine what devices should be assigned to Kellerstue?

          - could be that you include more devices than what the Energy Panel “selectes”?

          - or is Kellerstue just one single device? My interpretation is that it is a room with several devices?

    - What values are actually the correct once?

           - If you look on the advance tab on each device in the VP Kellerstue and add together all the values, does they add up to the QA or the EnergyPanel value?

"Kjellerstue" is a room, but with only one device, "VP kjellerstue".

The VP kjellertue advanced tab shows same value as the EnergyPanel.

All items in my QA is single devices, to fetch the values I use this function:

Please login or register to see this code.

And if you take a look at my top 3 consuming devices in my screenshot and compare them to my QA neither of them match...

Hey, did you try checking the panel settings? It can be useful to understand, also If you look on the advance tab on each device in the VP Kellerstue and add together all the values, do they add up to the QA or the EnergyPanel value?

Do let me know if the values are the same or not

I have recieved an answer from @mroszak, so thanks to him for great support...here is his explanation

The requests you are using (api.get("/energy/1672531200/1675123200/compare/devices/power/1614")  is a obsoleted API from HC2 (backward compatibility) - it calculates energy according to power measurements on gateway side.
Those round summary "graphs" are using /api/panels/energy?id=123
Whole energy panel is now based on "energy" reported by the devices, not instant power like in HC2.
