New HC3 - Visual inspection

Question

Posted

I received my new HC3 from Robbshop NL and installed him. Working perfectly.

… when I saw the first unboxing video’s of the HC3 I’m missing the ”gold platted feet” and the bottom it has a "weird" shape in the plastic.

Is this also the case with you?

Mine aproxx 2 years old has gold feet, a evenly surface on the bottom, and it looks my "Home Center 3 " text is more sharp and thinner.

Also bought at the RobbShop NL

Hi @_Wilco_, when did you bought it?

    @Sjekke

    March 28

I don't know if it is there from day one, I didn't really check it.

But the bottom is not feeling hot (not even warm).

But yours, because of the front damage, definitely looks like a used one.

Perhaps your serial number will give some realistic data

Mine is from May 2020 and is around HC3-00002240

Or ask Robbshop if its a used one, I cant imagine they will sell without remark.

@_Wilco_ The only damage you'll see is the graze on the top left.  What you also see is the abrasion of the HC3 during transport. It remains a very cheap housing compared to the HC2

My serial is 245xx so quite recent.

Maybe @K.Drozynski or @m.roszakcan explain why these are different models?

There was some changes in production process, so those are legit devices - no more copper "feet", problem with availability. I think that black ones are better than no gateway at all :)
Anyway, there should not be any damage on them.

As for the bottom of the device, this weird thing was there always.

Definitely one of the greatest batches of bottom casing, it is generally there so if you got a piece without this visible - good for you :)
Mine got it ;) (SN 000002xx).

Mine is from pre-proudction batch SN 000001xx and has no weird thing on the bottom of case and has brass "feet" :-)

Unfortunately is missing NICE chip so will send it to Fibaro to solder one.
