Sonoff NSPanel (PRO)

Question

Posted

Hello,

Is anyone using it with HC3? Any issues faced? Or any alternative to it? Seems a pretty good alternative to Fibaro Swipe.

Is Fibaro thinking about launching a device like this?

Hey all,

So in the last 30 days I bought the NS Panel Pro, which doesn't work with Fibaro unless you want multiple bridges. It's not z-wave or zigbee compatible without the eWelink app which personally I find useless. I then found on the forum the commentary surrounding Rithum (previously Violet) and bought the Fibaro plugins via partner:

.

Here are my thoughts:

  • There is no need for a partner as it's enter the Fibaro IP and credentials
  • The plugin only supports scenes, not devices meaning you can't control brightness or % of blind etc.
  • You are limited to 8 scenes on the screen
  • The heating is controlled via zone which may be problematic for some
  • The device doesn't have it's own temperature sensors
  • There is no camera/doorbell support
  • There is also no "always on" screen, which can be
  • It's a nice little device, but a luxury at the price point of 299 EUR

I will probably end up going with a couple for strategic positioning for example:

  • By the entrance to run full scenes i.e. profile switches or all lights off etc.
  • In each zone for main scenes and temperature control

But my gut still tells me an iPad mini is more value when comparing price and control.

I'd love to see a device like NSPanel compatible with Fibaro HC3. I think a lot of people would be interested in that.

So I took the plunge and purchase the Enclosure Stand and Sonoff NPS Panel Pro. Within 5 minutes I can tell you it doesn't work with Fibaro :) it's a zigbee device only controlled via eWeLink app (which is worse than Yubii). I tried to configure it to push devices to control via Google Assistant (which integrates with Fibaro), and fail there it's only voice control for eWeLink devices.

Having spent quite a bit of time on this, it seems the simplest way is a tablet like the iPad Mini using

app, though to customise the dashboards you need a Windows device to use the designer software. It'll be my next step but sadly not a nice integrated option.

Yeah... I already took a look at it... but it's currently unavailable, it doesn't ship to where I live and I cannot clearly understand that "Pro Plugin" thingy where you have to contact a Fibaro dealer -

. I was thinking more of a fully customizable layout with virtual buttons that could make API calls to HC3.

That's great helping. I can even buy the Fibaro Pro Core plugin... seems interesting. Now I just need anyone who's already using it :) to give me some feedback.

I can see that the Plugin is "out of stock"? What's with this plugin? I thought it was software... but since it's out of stock it must not be.

The plug-in gives you access to your fibaro scenes, depending on the user that connected with your Violet you can select the scenes that you want to show (up to 8). Also the core plug-in is essential for the other fibaro plugins, for example climate plug-in.

    Awww thanks for the info.

So, only Fibaro scenes? You cannot interact directly with a device? I can create scenes to interact with devices but that would mean I would have to create at least 1 scene for each device, not what I had in mind...

But is the plugin software based? Or does it have any hardware appliance?

Seems a bit expensive for what it does (when it comes to Fibaro interactions) then...

It's a software add-on. Core gives access to scenes and is required for the Climate plugin

Ok... so it's a bit weird being "Out of Stock":

I won't buy Violet Smart Switch if I can't buy the Core Plugin.

Well I use the eWelink app lot and in my opinion its far better than Yubii, I've been trying to pair Elero Blinds for weeks and nothing seems to work. All i get in update this and update that!

I didn't do my research yet. But can you flash the NS Panel Pro with Tasmota or something. If that is possible we can create a QA that feeds the panel via MQTT.
