Power measurment of the thermostat for underfloor heating matt

Staszek.S

Question

So I have thermostat MCO MH-7H-EH connected to HC3 via z-wave.

In general it works fine. But it is rather generic device - no parameters template.

I have 3.5 kW underfloor matt connected, and I have no clue how often it starts, or how much energy it uses.

In 'advanced' - there is no place to set up estimated power consumption.

I was thinking I have spare contact on Fibaro Double Smart Module, so I will do the association to enable the contact when heating starts - no.. not possible :(

Then I thought maybe the scene... I can trigger my Smart Module contact by thermostat state change... but... It is always in state 'heating'...

No matter if it is actually giving heat or not - the status is always 'heating' - have the same behavior for FGT heads - doesn't matter what temperature is or if require heating is on or off - the thermostats are always on status 'heating'...

So simple question - how to get power measurement from this heating matt ?

@Staszek.SHi, I recomend you to use a Fibaro Walli Outlet socket, it is able to switch the load of your underfloor heating matt (16A) It can also measure the power.

  • Yes well, but this is not a thermostat :(

And what is more - everything is hidden into the wall (cables) and under the floor (matt).

So having everything ripped out and then connected to the wall with the plug like an iron or kettle? No do :)
