MCOhome occupancy Sensor OS12 where to buy

ErikP

Question

In the last HC3 beta update its stated that MCOHome sensor OS11/12 is supported. That's great, finally a doppler sensor for z-wave! But does anyone know where to purchase, I can not find it anywhere...

@ErikP I didn't find a shop either. I've sent them an e-mail asking for link to an online shop.

  • Thanks for your responses. Strange that such a product is hard to distribute. I would expect quite some interest in it....

    Yes. Price is correct.

    Occupacy sensory are expensive.

We have zublin, niko where wired occupacy sensor are more expensove than os11.

Only zigbee model is cheaper and works very good with Fibaro but you cant change any parameters.

In OS11 you have also 3A output so you can also control something from this sensor.

Ok. Fair enough, while i still think it is expensive i am very interrested in the os11.

Do you maybe have a specsheet or instruction manual, i havent found this online yet.

I add manual to the shop.

I checked a lot of occupacy sensors and only a few are quite good.

Zublin and Niko didn't detect breating detection and costs about 100 EUR. You must also add Smart Implant to work.

Steinel True Presence is good but it costs about 300-800 EUR depends of the version and you must add Smart Implant to work.

Basalte Auro is very good and design is perfect but it cost about 300 EUR and it's only KNX version.

There are also some DALI-2 version of the presence sensor but also it cots about 150 -300 EUR and you must add DALI functionality to FIBARO.

So as you see this price in my opinion is quite good because you have this output and also you didn't need to add Smart Implant to implement it in Fibaro.

You can also think about ZigBee version:

I tested it for 3 months. Now Fibaro team fix some problems with the new version of this module but it works good. You can't set any parameters because it's ZigBee and also you must think about range. In my opinion it's very good product and it's 12V version.

I now use Fp1 sensors, work perfectly and are a fraction of the price of the MChome. But I think the solution in the ceiling is very neat. Especially with the 230v solution. I understand that no external power is required. What about the zigbee version. Is the power supply inside the housing?

Ps: thanks for the manual - but the link doesnt work for me.

I'm struggling a bit with the idea that this won't fit in a wall socket. My ceiling has an identical distribution box as in the walls. This is already not the 4cm deep that is necessary. Is this product only for system ceilings?

    @viperlodz Any thoughts about this?

I will check at monday. Send me dimensions of the box because maybe in Poland we have different.

There is also model OS12 but we didn't import it. With next import I thing we will get some of OS12 because we have some questions about it.

I looked it up online, and I see that the standard depth is 50mm. So apparently I'm wrong about that. It seems less deep due to the many wiring in it. It is a similar box to the one on this link.

Hi @viperlodz, I've just order one OS11 following your link. Do you have an idea of what needs to be done in order to make it work with 12v? it's indicated in the doc that it optional, but nowhere we can read what this option is. Thanks for the help.

Hi @viperlodz, I saw that, cool ! thank you.

No problem,  i managed to pass a cable for the 230v. If it works well i believe that a few ones will come after that one :)

Please let me know if you get few 12v version as it's easier for to wire.

    Thanks again !
