all zigbee devices offline

I'm starting to lose patience, today all zigbee devices gradually went offline. A remote reboot of the gateway didn't help, I'm off site and have no idea what to do, thank you  😡

Hmmm, HC3 ZigBee is still in beta. This is main reason why my HC3 ZigBee devices is still at zero. Actually my home is still controlled by HC2 which is stable and doing job as expected with stable system version 4.630.

 

I started with development on HC3 just recently and for now it looks promising. It is just unfortunate that Fibaro need so much time to get to the stable system with no beta version of any part of the software including ZigBee and Z-wave 3.0 alike.

 

So to be clear, dear @petro_cz  I think your anger is misplaced except if you are anger on yourself believing that beta will work satisfactory.

BTW - how many ZigBee devices did you include to HC3? Since you are not an isolated case I do not understand why we do not have opened thread where you can report problem with ZigBee with details so Fibaro can use it to improve ZigBee? I mean, all of users who decided to go for ZigBee devices on HC3 ZigBee beta actually decided to help Fibaro to improve it? Or I'm wrong?

Hmmm, HC3 ZigBee je stále v beta verzi. To je hlavní důvod, proč jsou moje zařízení HC3 ZigBee stále na nule. Ve skutečnosti je můj domov stále řízen HC2, který je stabilní a funguje podle očekávání se stabilní verzí systému 4.630.

 

S vývojem na HC3 jsem začal nedávno a zatím to vypadá nadějně. Je jen nešťastné, že Fibaro potřebuje tolik času, aby se dostalo do stabilního systému bez beta verze jakékoli části softwaru včetně ZigBee a Z-wave 3.0.

 

Takže aby bylo jasno, drahá@petro_cz  Myslím, že tvůj hněv není na místě, kromě případů, kdy se hněváš sám na sebe a věříš, že beta bude fungovat uspokojivě.

BTW - kolik ZigBee zařízení jste zahrnuli do HC3? Protože nejste ojedinělý případ, nechápu, proč nemáme otevřené vlákno, kde můžete nahlásit problém se ZigBee s podrobnostmi, aby to Fibaro mohlo použít ke zlepšení ZigBee? Myslím tím, že všichni uživatelé, kteří se rozhodli pro ZigBee zařízení na HC3 ZigBee beta, se skutečně rozhodli pomoci Fibaru je zlepšit? Nebo se pletu?
 

Hi, after coming home I found out that the whole system is not working well, even zwave things are driven slow, everything is like in honey! Checking memory and processor load O.K. No one did anything to the system, no settings changed, no devices added! So the zigbee bug is just the tip of the iceberg! I'm worried about firmware bugs! I see the user not having access to the error log as a huge problem!    

 

 P.S. zigbee has been in beta for about 3 years now! What a speed. I wouldn't use zigbee if zwave offered products with this protocol!

Bulbs ( of a certain type) , temperature sensors , Human Presence, 16A sockets, Philips led lights, etc. I also find the high price of the equipment when the same socket costs 6 times more!

the company who is driving zigbee since begin (stadard, stack, test centers, libs), ubisys, they haven't implemented on ther gateway much more than few devices, why? becuase that's the zigbee reality, one have to play with each every module to get it somehow working, mayby till next fw update or next power outage (like aqara sensors loosing conectivity). Anyway, Fibaro is at least using very well known zigbee implementation (zigbee-herdsman), so zigbee engine level HC3 can support almost everything. It is still beta, because all these devices need to get mapped to what HC3 knows, mean zigbee divice with motion and temp sensor need to be displayed as such etc.

At least as mappings (so if HC3 manage to include them properly, and they sending proper data, then they will be visible and work), however still not every zigbee v3 device, from above device types, is supported. I have tons of zigbee v3 devices here, that fails somewhere in the inclusion process, or sends wrong data, or partialy working (most cases manufacture specific things). Most of the issues is really deeper that just "it's zigbee bulb so it must work". Then there are zigbee devices which are locked to specific manufacturer gw, so one can include them on OS platform, but that will never work on HC3 as Fibaro simply have to follows - as manufacturer - the rules and can't use fake names/IDs.

Finally for sure is zigbee not high prio project for Fibaro, so i'm happy they doing something to support cheap competetive devices

I found a huge gate problem! When there is a scene where a zigbee device is included and it stops working, it stops the gate! This is not zigbee's fault, but the system programmer's fault. I had the gateway virtually unusable for three days, I found out that when fibaro unregistered all the Zigbee products ( still don't know why) the gateway totally stuck and it's the scenes that include zigbee! This is a complete mistake of the program to not account for such a variant!

Thank you @petro_cz for solving that mystery that tortures if not all, the most of us. I have the same issue. For an unknown reason though every time I lose all my zigbee devices or most of them, it is during the night. Can't Imagine which scenes on my setup run during the night, except a zigbee motion sensor to turn a light attached to a fibaro single switch. But this scene runs all day long. Another thing that I noticed is that when a zigbee device doesn't operate for some time (don't know why or how much time) it is shown as disconnected till you operate it. For example a zigbee door sensor shows disconnected till you open the door that refreshes its status.

I connected all my zigbee devices to my home assistant setup through a homeassistant Skyconnect and my torturing of resetting devices every morning ended..(for now).

Btw last import is that whenever my fibaro stuck as you referred, certain zwave devices with no profile parameters (at least yet...) thermostats  MCO Home MH5 in my case, lose functionality as showing crazy decimal numbers till I reset them.

 I had the Same happen today and looks like related to Zigbee DB when doing a toll back all coms back ,   So now Q is, is worth keep trying to make things work on HC3 that missing power motoring in general for anything about 2000watts  or better to give up and move on ?

First of all you didn't mention what kind of load you have that need more than 2000W of power, is it resistive or inductive? Never the less, it is not true that there are no devices that can monitor and control appliances with resistive power above 2000W that works perfectly with HC2 and HC3. First is of course Fibaro wall plug FGWPEF-102 up to 11A, then Fibaro Walli FGWOEF-011 up to 16A and then for even bigger consumers there is Aeotec Heavy Duty Switch that goes up to 40A. I know, all these devices are z-wave and more expensive than zigbee versions, but I have all of the above and are in service for years without problem so worth the money.

 

But of course, there are other solutions, better or worse than Fibaro. If you believe that it is time for change then do it, but make that decision on your own after carefully exploring other solution possibilities. Do not expect others to put additional weight on any side of decision scale.
