Getting Aeotec Door Window Sensor Pro 7 to work with HC3 in Dry Contact Mode

Ronald H

Question

Hi all

Firstly I apologise for raising an Aeotec issue with Fibaro, but I am connecting the sensor to HC3 and I am not sure if it is a sensor problem or HC3 problem.

I want to use the Aeotec Door Window Sensor Pro 7 as a door bell slave, operating in Dry Contact mode to communicate with Fibaro HC3. My problem is that it all connects ok via a relay to operate the sensor, BUT the problem is that it takes one door bell pulse to wake up the sensor and HC3 responds ok to all subsequent pulses. After about 30 seconds, it seems to go to sleep again and will need another wakeup pulse before it can send forward other pulses to activate my Fibaro HC3 scene.  I am using the sensor in the Dry Contact Mode with Param 1 = 1.  This happens regardless of whether the contact input is operating NO or NC format. Is there some parameter I am missing?

Has anyone successfully connected this sensor to HC3 in Dry Contact mode and had HC3 respond to the first intrusion pulse

Best Regards Ron H

  • Ron H is sorry

My problem with Aeotec Door Window sensor in Dry Contact mode was due to faulty parameter settings. With this device, it is tricky to change parameters via HC3.

Having mastered this parameter change, all is well, and operating as it should, keeping P1 = 1 and P2 =0 for a NO doorbell sensor
