HC3 admin web interface on a mobile device?

Question

Posted

Hi there

Does anyone have any success using the admin console in a mobile browser? I find it always renders wider than the screen and is very difficult to properly scroll, access all the buttons (e.g. those on the bottom left are off the viewable area with no way to move the view to get to them), etc. - basically to the point of being unusable.

While the Yubii app is fine for "end user" tasks like turning devices on or off (and actually I use Home Remote for this), the issue makes it hard to do things like add new zwave devices, check logs, or make small tweaks to QuickApps (e.g. tweaking a timing rule in an EventRunner QA), without having a full-size laptop on hand.

(I note that the latest Yubii app update seems to support adding devices, I have yet to try this out ... it still doesn't let you to do many other admin tasks though, for that you need the web interface).

I've tried different browsers (Chrome and Edge on Android... for better or worse all my devices are Android not iOS), both "desktop site" and "mobile site" modes within the browsers, and different screen sizes on my foldable phone, without much success.

I'd love to hear if anyone has got a good pattern working for this and how you did it!

On my Samsung S21 when using Chrome there is a 'soft' button that lets me rotate from portrait to lanscape view - this makes the interface a little more usuable, but still not 100%
