New notificationtypes?

Question

Posted

I don't know with which recent update they came, but I justed noticed that in the current 5.161 most devices have gotten extra notifications for Z-wave:

Are the "new" notifications explained anywhere? When do they trigger?

These notifications have the type "CustomDeviceNotification...", for example "CustomDeviceNotification.4.2". Is there a conversionlist between these typenames and understandable typenames, for example "TurningOn" for notification "Turning On"?

Will these typenames change in the future?

The upper ones have been there for a long time, since the beginning of the HC3 platform. Those are based on system representation of the device.

Now, we added handling for protocol-specific notifications that may not have a generic representation in the system - it is available in ZW3.0 only in general.
Those are based on CC Notification from Z-Wave specification and typenames are taken from there.
It just means you can use them easily now (before, they were available only in the block scenes).

Yes, the upper once I have seen since the beginning.

So they are in the 3.0 std? Will …4.2 always mean the same? Can I hardcode these types into my code?
