Help with Fibaro Dimmer and Scene Activation

Hi. I have a couple of Fibaro Dimmers that I would like to use with scene activation functionality. According to the manual it is parameter 28. After changing parameter 28 from 0 to 1 I would have expected a change of available options of the dimmer in the scene builder part of HC3 to be used for building scenes. This I can not find. I've tried this with a couple of dimmers with same result. Anyone using fibaro dimmers with scene activation functionality and can explain to me how it is configured?

Hi, yes that is exactly what I'm looking for. I don't have the option of choosing "Scene activation ID". Besides configuring parameter 28, any other dependencies in software or hardware (wire) configuration?

check out parameter

20 type of switch  

22 if the switch should be sync (this is useful for toggle switches)

28 to 1 as you found 

 

the numbers that I marked is what you insert in the scene activation id (26) in the above picture

Hi, it is a momentary switch with a spring installed.

 

Parameter 20, 0 - momentary switch

Parameter 22, 0 - device change status on key status change

Parameter 28, 1 - functionality activated

 

The problem is that I don't have the Scene Activation Drop Down in the menu. Here is the screenshot of the configured device in the Scene building view.

aha check under devices and find the remote device on the fibaro dimmer 2. If your light is 360, the remote is usually ID 359  It might be hidden, so check the filter option.

Hi, I did try that yesterday unhiding the device. However the device itself did not become available from the drop down list despite the fact that I've unhidden it. Then I at least know I was on right path. I'm not home right now, but I'll doble check in the afternoon and post a couple of screen shots if it is still missing from the list of available items in the drop down list of the room.

 

It is one device for both S1 an S2 which should be unhided and it is the output of ID which determines what was clicked, right?

Only one device for s1 and s2 the outpur id tells you if it is s1 or s2 
And remember to check if the remote device is in the same room as the light bulb when you unhide it 😄  This might be why you didnt find it yesterday

12,13,14,16 is for S1

 

22,23,24,25,26 is for S2

Hi, please see attaced images. I can not understand why this device is not available from the drop down lists. If I do unhide other parts of the associated device attached to Light, it becomaes available in the drop down list. Any ideas?

Try to rename it and save and check again? 

It should have been visible and cant see why it isnt 😅

Hi, I found the solution. I removed the device from HC3. Did a hard reset on the dimmer and added it again. Everything worked as designed. It also came in a new design, why I don't know. Regarding the remote, I did not had to unhide it. Below is what came out of the box.

The new design is since the patch with the new app I think

But nice it worked out

And then it was gone... After removing and adding a lot of fibaro devices, I was going to create a couple of scenes. Now the associated device is not available from the drop down any more. I rest my case. This must be a bug.

Which hub version are you using?
There is an issue in 5.160 which causes this. It was fixed in 5.161 Beta.

Hi. I'm using 5.160.42. Thank you for the update. If there is an issue with this release I'll wait for next final to use GUI. In the meantime I've solved it using Eventrunner.

 

After having a lot of trouble with beta's back in the days when HC2 was new. I have stopped using beta releases from Fibaro. My experience with beta releases is that they introduced more errors than what they correct.

I can confirm that this issue is resolved in the 5.170.13 release.
