New to HC3

Question

Posted

Hi

I have recently started from scratch with an HC3 after many years in HC2 land. I am wondering why my simple block scenes (example shown in LUA form below) to activate lights seem to turn off at the end of the time, by that I mean re-activation of the motion sensor doesn't reset the timeout.   Is it something simple I'm missing??

There are several ways to let the light turn on and off by your motion sensor. Your Lua scene (it isn’t a block scene) doesn’t do the job. It will just turn off the light after a few minutes, regardless of your motion sensor.

Search the forum for motion and you will find a ready made lua scene to have your lights turn on and off only when there is no more motion.

You are right @SmartHomeEddy it is a block scene I converted to LUA for the question.   I was hoping to keep things simple and stick to blocks as the HC3 way seems much improved to the HC2. method.  I'll do the research as you suggest.  Thanks.

Here is a big topic if you want to use a lua scene:

Or with a different approach, like for example a quickapp over here:
