No rtsp, No MJPEG, No JPEG image in mobile app

Question

Posted

Hello

Any expert in cameras?

I am trying to get at least an jpeg or mjpeg image into my mobile app, but dosnt work.

Both JPEG and MJPEG are working nicely in web UI of FIbaro, but none of them work in mobile app.

Also tried rtsp. It deosnt work neither in WEB nor in Mobile app.

All the  rtsp urls are correct for sure, we have tried them in VLC, tried them in Browser..

The most annoying is that even a single JPEG picture can not be loaded into mobile app

Anyone with some advice?

THanks

The myeye cameras from nice works good(got motion triggers on person, car, possible to flash the blue/red light or white light),
but if they wouldnt work nice then I would have lost my mind 😆
Also the picture works in both web view and app :D
(the motion trigger is a bit slow when detecting persons/cars, 2-10sec)

Otherwise I have only gotten a few camera working fine with jpeg it is a Reolink E1 outdoor. But cant get the ptz left/right working. 🤔
and a cheap d-link dcs-6100lh (this work right away and that was annoying as *abuse*)(cost of 10euro on sale...)
But the reolink I had to log in with the reolink application for pc and change settings to allow access to the streams for it to work.

But as you say you have it working in vlc/browser.
And I guess you have tried 100 of combinations on the stream urls?

And the template on the ip camera plugins from manufactors or the generic type?

What type of camera do you have?

example Myeye Dome:

We have tried TPlink, Akuvox, Hikvision..

At one time they worked..Now none of them work.

The urls are double checked..all of them worked in WEB Fibaro, but none of them woek now.

In moblie view Akuvox, and Hikvision also worked, but they dont now.

That sucks... Especially when they have worked before 🤔

Only thing I can think off is splitting up the url and only use ip/pw on the network config like this picture:
I guess you have tried that?   and only fill in the links for 1 protocol at a time.

My Hikvision stopt working after a bad, lan connection. No mpeg stream in the App. Local streams kept working through the back-up Wi-Fi connection. Took a while before I found this. After fixing the connection they worked again, Use the camera’s with an guest account, and http/mpeg stream connection.

Btw, I tested some of my old cameras that have ONVIF.
If you got a nice myeye recorder you can add cameras with the NVR by ONVIF :D

On the Reolink E1 I only get the view in the app. But with the recorder I can view it from lan and 5g connection in the app :)

I am going to test some other cameras with onvif too. Just have to get some times to cofigure the other cameras again :)

    Hi.
I'll try to write some tips.
Many manufacturers have their own proprietary protocol.
That's why ONVIF is enabled for most (not all) of them. Usually, you need to create a separate user for ONVIF.
Another pain point for some manufacturers is higher security. Digest is used everywhere for stream or connection verification.
VLC can handle it, it can exchange tokens.
For display/integration into some older systems, it is therefore appropriate to switch this to none or basic.
Your security will be reduced, but it should help with display.

The fact that it worked and now it doesn't can also be caused by automatic updates being enabled for cameras or NVRs.

Thanks Martin..I tried without authentications too. Only in one case (Hikvision) i was able to get JPEG into mobile app. RTSP never works. THanks
