Problem logging in...

Question

Posted

I have the last weeks, now and then, had problems logging in to the HC3s web interface.

I fill in user/password and nothing happens. No error messages or wrong password or anything (the password is correct, works with curl commands towards the HC3 api)

If I open the javascript console it is flooded with error messages

[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request): http://192.168.1.57/api/service/systemStatus?lang=EN&_=0.15792112204496422

...millions of them and it continuous as long as I stay on the login page. So both the browser and the HC3 seems to be very busy in the background... ;-)

I have tried both Safari and Chrome on MacOS 15.2 and it is the same issue (javascript errors...)

The HC3 has latest FW 5.171.

I don't have any strange browser plugins... I have emptied caches and restarted systems, HC3 and laptop...

I did recently change the HC3 from https to http access, but don't know if that's related.

After some time, minutes to hour, it usually lets me login again. However now it's been like this since yesterday, so it's not so fun anymore.

Anyone else seen this problem?

...and as soon as I posted that I managed to login on Chrome (not Safari)

This has been the case in the past too, sometimes I can login in in Safari and not Chrome and vice verse, and then after a while I can also login with the other browser.

However, now I got in because I opened https://<HC3-IP> in Chrome, which complained of course that it was unsecured, but it let me log in(!)

I also noticed that the HC3's network config was https/http now - and I'm almost 100% sure I set it to http the last time...

Anyway, it's something fishy going on...

    @jgab, I only use Safari.

Sometimes it's freeze if I connect via cloud. I guess my network limitations?

    Loacal no problems.

    fw 5.171.15

Remark since a few days I started my network again from scratch with a new router. Speed 450-550. In previous network sometimes < 50 (Wifi)

Have some problems to login on Safari and Chrome. Since have switched to Microsoft Edge, no problems.

    Firefox works also...

By the way do you use IP address or SSL certificate?

Have found that using SSL certificate is very convenient.  Either HC3 connected via LAN or Wi-Fi the HTTP address in the browser is the same.

I agree with @jgab that there is something wrong with communication between browser locally connected to HC3.

I'm using Firefox latest version and HC3 is on 5.171 beta. If GUI home page is left opened for long time and my iMac falls asleep, then after waking it up Firefox reports that HC3 GUI home page is taking too much resources and freezes. I have to close tab and then reopen it and then I usually get to login page.

I already posted that there is problem, but with auto logout that is never showed properly.

BTW - there is no such problems with HC2. I just have to refresh GUI home page after waking up my iMac since connection during sleep was lost and it was not refreshed during that time.

Open the javascript terminal or developer panel or whatever it is called it Firefox and see if there area lot of javascript errors produced. Can explain the resources....

For me I believe that the problem is some kind of http/https mixup, where the browser page query the HC3 for systemStatus with http but the api wants https and thus the status of 400 (Bad Request)

@jgab, I installed Firefox selected developer and I see in 10 hours 48000 lines with two Bindings error and one paswor error because off the usage of http instead of https

Well, that's just 1 1/3 request per second... a slow day at work :-)

    Seriously, something is wrong.

I guess after one has logged in,  the page will query the HC3 continuously in some way or another, so I would expect some requests per minute. Not sure how they poll the box...

Is your stats after you logged in? My stats was just having the login page up...

Anyone had opened a ticket about this? Because writing just here probably won't raise develper's attention. @jgab Will you open a ticket?
