Brand new HC3 and can't make any connection to it out of the box

Question

Posted (edited)

The lights all come up from right to left as it boots, the 7 right most lights go solid and the far left light remains blinking. I can't connect to it directly via Wifi (either by scanning the QR code from the Yubii app or entering the SSID/pw manually as a new wifi network to connect to in my phone or laptop), my Unifi system can't see it on the network when plugged in (with patch lead from box or one of mine).

Manufacturing date appears to be June 2024.

So far it seems dead in the water. Any tips?

    Yes, it can't find it

Is it supposed to feel like cheap plastic with mid quality printing on the bottom compared to the HC2?

Could be that the hc3 is in static IP?

This appears to have no effect on the device. The lights don't change and I still can't connect.

And is it set to dynamic (yellow) or to static (green)?

A truly brand-new device being faulty is strange, as these units are thoroughly tested during production. Devices that do not pass the tests will not leave the factory.

However, we all know that shipping can sometimes cause issues (depend on how UPS? "handles" packages)

If the left LED is blinking while the others are solid, it means that the HC3 has not started the OS.
You should try to boot into recovery mode, which might work.

If booting into recovery mode (LEDs will light up from left to Right during boot) doesn't work,  unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done locally. In that case, you will need to send the device back.
