Hello fibaro people,

I keep getting dead nodes from fibaro relay switches. My main controller is in the same room as the switches and the devices are about 8 meters apart. I don't think that the range could be the problem. I'm using HC2 v4.035.

Maybe there's any solution for the mentioned problem?

Every installation is different. That may explain why you are having issues that are not typical of this firmware version or do not occur in my installation.

To help you better, can you please try to answer some questions? I cannot judge from a distance if you are an experienced user or not, so these questions may seem overkill to you. If I underestimate you, please tell me, I do not want you to see this as an offence...

Can you give a (rough) breakdown of your network e.g. 3 x FGS221 , 2 x FGD211 and so on = total of X devices + number of scenes, so we can get an idea of the complexity of the network…

What was the previous version of your Homecenter? Did the problem exist at that version?

What was the version of your homecenter when you added the device or devices that cause problems?

What’s the manufacturer, model number and firmware version of the problem-device(s)?

Which of your devices appear on the Diagnostics, Z-WAVE tab, under the heading “Device not configured”?

Which of your devices appear on the Diagnostics, Z-WAVE tab, under the heading “Devices without templates”?

Did you try “Soft reconfigure device”? Warning: doing so might make things worse or solve them. For battery devices you have to know and perform the “wake-up procedure” for that device. In theory, everything (parameters, associations, IDs) is preserved, but there is aan exception: if the device didn’t have a template but a template exists in the firmware of the HC2, things DO change. What is the result of the “Soft reconfigure device”?

Did you try to do “Reconfigure device”? Warning: doing so gives new IDs + settings to the device so you need to change your scenes! This might make things worse, but also has the potential to completely solve all problems. Since you need to change IDs after this procedure, feel free to skip this and do an “exclude, include” instead. The only advantage of “configure” is that you don’t need to click on (inaccessible) buttons on the device.

Did you try to exclude, include (optionally with a device specific reset before include) the device? All device settings (parameters, associations) will be lost and you’ll end up with new device IDs, but often this solves your problem. Or at least make basic functionality of a device available (e.g. Make a relay work as on/off but not as temperature sensor).

Did you search on this forum? Can you provide links to topics that you think that may be of interest?

Did you contact support? What was their response?

Have you searched on

for (known) bugs? Can you provide issue numbers?

Please post some lua code or screenshots of the scenes that are related to your problem. I can only help with lua code, but do post graphical aka “block scenes” too so other people can have a look at them. You can convert block scenes to lua, but if you post this I can tell you didn’t write it yourself

Hello,

I'm not an experienced user and for the moment I'm trying to learn as much as possible.

i have this problem with my devices.

for the moment i have a HCL 3.594 version and 2 -  Roller Shuters 2  - FGRM222 Version 22.22.

The device worked for a few days until i had a power loss in the HCL and now i can;t connect any more to the devices... They appear to be dead nodes and when i press the big X or "Wake up dead nodes in Section" i get the message (on the device box) "transfer fail".

I tried to recalibrate the devices, to reload the parameters,  to turn off the power supply and restart it.

The only thing that i did no do is to try to reset from the "B" button the devices and to reconnect them to the HCL - but i have to open the casing of the motor etc.. and i don't consider this as being a reliable solution.
