Hi,

just learned a bit about Amazon Echo - (

). Any chance to integrate it with HC2 ?

Depends on how you want to dim the lights. I set up two versions:

1. Utterance - "Dim the lights Up/Down"

This reduces the brightness  by a set value e.g. 10, 15 or you can be fancy and make it variable depending on the start dim level. All of this is controlled via a scene i.e. through the API call a scene rather than just the device directly

2. Utterance - "Set/Dim light(s) to high" / "Set/Dim light to medium" / "Set/Dim light(s) to Low"

Each utterance sets the lights to a preset dim level.

I found that I used the second more than the first as it gets you to the dim level you want first go. it's a bit annoying having to request to dim changes more than once i.e. the whole thing loses its appeal at that stage.

Hope that helps.

It really is complete rubbish that Amazon will not ship this outside of the US. It had the potential to be a great HA device

yes, and it's rubbish that best buy was out of stock when my neighbour went to buy one for me just before heading back to London

Since the software is available to raspberry pi, you might as well built it on your own.

Did you finally got your Echo's?

I have implemented this sollution some weeks ago and it was working like a charm but now it suddenly stopped to work. I have no Idea why.

Is there anybody else with problems?

Just know that, for some time amazon disabled network discovery in alexa-avs-raspberry-pi so it's only possible use ha-bridge with real Amazon Echo.

Nope, given up for the time being. figure I'll wait for them to officially sell in the UK, which based on recent articles, including some blatant advertising by the guardian, may be soon.

What has stopped working?

Just everything. Alexa cannot recognize any lesson. I reactivated the skill 3 times and checked the portal. It looks to me as if the ubi portal stopped communicating with echo.

I just checked my UBIs and they are working fine. I'd suggest contacting UBI support to see what's going on.

Don't have an echo yet, so can't help diagnose any further.

For anyone interested this is how I modified the amazon-echo-ha.bridge.jar file through the source files.

Please login or register to see this link.

Today I installed the HA-Bridge ver 2.0.3

It is working and Fibaro is sending the conformation so Alexa can say OK. The descrition of the HA-bridge says that you can use different commands like turn on, open, start, etc.

Did you manage to get it done? In my case only turn on works.

Its funny... I have three scenes:

TV, Squeeze (squeezebox) and Gate.

Alexa is reacting when I say "TV on" or "TV off". In case of the other scenes I have to say "Turn on the Gate" and " Turn on Squeeze". "Gate On" is not working.

All three of them are exactly the same.
