Foscam PTZ used in Scene

Stephan Smit

Question

I would like my Foscam Ip Cam to move(PTZ) to a specific position when a Scene is triggered.

Eg Smoke Scene.

Foscam move from TV Room to Kitchen to take snapshot/record.

I have a HCL V3.601 and Foscam is already setup to work with HCL.

Any advice appreciated

I donnot know if the HCL has the capability to use lua, but I achieved this in my HC2 by sending http-command to the Foscam camera through lua.

The first you have to do is configure a PTZ-preset in the camera with a dedicated name, in your case for example kitchen. After that you can activate the ptz-preset:

Please login or register to see this link.

For example:

If your camera IP address = 192.168.0.99 on port 80 with user=admin and password=1234 and the presetname=kitchen then the URL-command will looks like this:

http://192.168.0.99:80/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=ptzGotoPresetPoint&name=kitchen&usr=admin&pwd=1234

You can paste the URL-string in your browser and see if the URL-string is working.

  • Thanks Lambik. I managed to get the String working in browser. Unfortunately HCL have no LUA functionality, will try to create Virtual Device.

Lambrik, could you please share the LUA code to send this http command to camera? I am sucessful in direct browser control, but can't get it working over LUA.

    Thanx
