Anomaly when deleting broken icons following recovery

Hi

As most people know the custom icons get 'broken' after a recovery

I experienced this a few weeks ago and I went to clean up my system today and noticed an odd behaviour.

 

As you can see below the broken icons are below

Note - There are 10 that need to be deleted

Clicking delete.. and the number broken is 3

Deleting one of the broken icons gives the following...

Note - There are now 9 broken icons

Can anybody else replicate this

HC2 running 4.120, windows 7 machine, Chrome browser

I had to do a recovery over the weekend and all my custom icons even after a restore were missing ...

Is this a bug/know issue ?

I'm afraid this is a "Fibaro feature", I had a similar experience after a complete restore.

I've started the process of adding the back in manually and changing all the references in my code

I am surprised to learn "custom icons" are (now? from 4.140 onward?) stored in the backup. As long as I can remember, this never was the case. So you'd always lose custom icons after a recovery... I have not tried on 4.140, I can't tell, but @AutoFrank you seem to confirm what I am thinking...

Sorry, but I can see that there is a little confusion.

Icons are not stored in back up created by a user.

The reported issue concerned icons that were deleted and after recovery a user got broken icons that cannot be deleted. This is the topic of the thread.

 

I think I misunderstood you@AutoFrank. Have you ever not lost icons after recovery?

We are aware of the issue with custom icons after performing update - they simply disappear.

We are aware that after performing update some VD icons change back to default ones, but after using the VD the correct icon shows up. This happens because system still have the icons in temp folder (let's call it like that).

We are also aware of the issue that sometimes the icons may duplicate.
