Question

Posted (edited)

Hi everyone,

Exciting times ahead..:D:D .

.... @fat spotted that the official Fibaro Skill is now available in the Alexa store.

Hi @T.Konopka - Do we need a new hc2 fw release to be able to leverage this or is it usable straightaway ?

Feedback from anybody getting it successfully running most welcome...

Thanks

-f

PS - I'll be looking this later and will try and create a Tutorial

PPS - Looks like we don't need new fw, anything after 4.112 will work...

Hi,

According to my experience your block scenes should include an actuator device such as wall plug, relay switch, dimmer etc. Otherwise it's not recognized.  Here is an example scene:

I created some scene`s with the Fibaro Button, and some are found, some not? The only difference is how often the button have to be pushed...

Can you share pictures for both? The difference could be in the action part of the scenes. (After Then)

As far as I see your first scene has a switch device(aus schalten) after then(dann) part of the scene. That's why it works and others don't. As I said before you need to have an actuator device after then part(dann) of the scene.

If you add the switch device(aus schalten) to the other scenes they could be recognized by the Alexa.

For me it still does not work.

I have to use my own skill to activate scenes.

I tried it by creating a new block scene with shutting off a particular light. This scene is not doing anything else, is visible and set to manual and automatic triggering.

But the official Fibaro Skill does not find any scene (devices are working fine)

Did you check @M.Baranowski 's checklist:

Quote

I was collecting necessary information about scenes running with Alexa. Here are all of the requirements for the scene to be available for Alexa.

The scene:

1) must be set as visible (visible: true),
2) is active (runConfig: MANUAL_ONLY or TRIGGER_AND_MANUAL),
3) is not Magic or LUA (type:com.fibaro.magicScene or type:type:com.fibaro.luaScene),
4) need to have at least one actor type device in action section (lower part, not the triggering one),
6) shouldn't run other scene which does not fulfill the above specification.

Yes of course.

I already wrote that I meet all 6 requirements.

Right now I tried it without any trigger, but I did test it with the ones in the pictures above too.

Sadly we can't run LUA scenes via Alexa.

We can check one of the non-working scenes if you can share a screenshot. Both the General and Advanced tabs of the scene.

So, only graphic blocks possible? I have never tried them :)

Second question. Is it possible to turn off/on Dimmer light without saying 0 / 100 % ?

Maybe we should create another topic to post possible use cases Alexa+Fibaro?

  • What is the brand and model of the Licht AZ device?
  • Is it recognized in the devices section of the Alexa? (I mean the device itself not the scene)

Fibaro Switch (old generation): 1x3kW

Yet it is recognized by the Fibaro Alexa Skill as device and it is configured as light in Fibaro.

@Alex, one more hint: can you check, if your scene is not hidden in Devices section of Smart Home in Alexa?

Thank you very much. You are right :)

(I am not at home so I could not test it).

But the scene is listed in the device section and not in the scene section...  Good to know...

You need:

  • FIBARO Home Center 2 or Home Center Lite with firmware 4.130 or newer,
  • FIBARO ID account with Home Center added,
  • Amazon Alexa device.

No Devives for me at all :-(

Do the fibaro-ID and the Master-User in HC2 need to have the same password?

@Alex when I remove the trigger part of my working scene Alexa still discovers it. But when I call 'Alexa, turn on [scene]' it doesn't actually work. Your scene also has an empty trigger part. That could be the problem.

Please login or register to see this attachment.

I've added Timers > Days of Week -> At any time as a trigger and it works fine wit Alexa.

I was not able to start this scene using Alexa :(

All the time the claims about something went wrong.
