MS6 "High temp warning"

Question

Posted

Hi Im receiving "Warning high temperature recorded, this could be a house fire", emails from multiple installed MS6 sensors.

Other than winding up the the temperature in the general configuration "high temp sending notification box " is the another solution?

There doesn't seem to be a parameter to stop this in MS6 config. I believe it is a heating issue with MS6 usb powered sensors but whats the fix?

Thanks

A lot has been written about these "temperature nails" (pulses) from different devices.
But I do not think we have been able to identify what causes them.

My tip is that the "nails" occur in poor communication with the device. I support my theory on my own experiences.

Earlier this autumn, these false alarms occurred several times a week. But now in Christmas times I have not received any false alarm.

I think the extra devices that I have placed for my Christmas lighting have helped to send temperature data without false alarms.

I agree with @RH_Dreambox. Lots of speculation, but nothing really definitive.  I can post some additional links if you want me to. I think it has to do with network and age/type of the device and the problem certainly is not limited to MS6. I do not have a solution. I did some statistical analysis, and I get about 1 in 10000 wrong ( > 45) reports from my sensors (not the MS6).

I only have one MS6 and reporting is OK. But I tried two "crappy" supplies to see if I could get the error, because this was mentioned in another topic. But reporting of my MS6 is still OK. I know the supply is quite bad (actually, "noisy") because I built it myself and I undersized output filtering. But I get no false reporting of any kind.
